SUMMARY
The Audio Technology Architecture Intern will support projects within the Consumer Entertainment group, from setting up and testing early technologies, through to creation of audio and video content for customer demonstrations, internal tests and experiments. This intern will gain experience on a wide variety of professional broadcast, OTT and consumer equipment and software incorporating Dolby technologies. In addition, this intern will learn professional tools such as in-house content creation software for audio and video content for TV, online and mobile transmission, customer technology demonstrations and internal product testing of 3rd party products incorporating Dolby technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the setup, maintenance and operation of various systems, including picture and sound postproduction tools, media rooms, test tools, digital playback systems, postproduction broadcast processing and storage systems, and internet-based content delivery systems
Supporting key project and engagements involving the CEG Architecture team, involving investigations into equipment and software used by key customers, preparation of technology demonstrations to support present technology and future technology deployments of Dolby technologies
Other various projects such as setting up on-site and off-site needs, equipment inventories, shipping of equipment to events, supporting demo installation for various industry events, and setup of equipment for training courses
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with professional and consumer audio and A/V systems and technologies (AES3, SDI, HDMI)
Experience with media networking technologies is a plus
Experience of creating audio and video content using NLE tools such as Adobe Premier, DAW tools such as Avid Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Reaper and associated production tools used in a broadcast environment
Ability to work independently and drive projects to conclusion
Strong problem-solving ability, good verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of audio signal processing and audio I/O implementation is a plus
Experience of scripting in languages such as Python is a plus
ELIGIBILITY
Working towards a Bachelor’s in music technology, media technology or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply
Must be available to work full-time Monday - Friday for 3 months between September 2019 – December 2019
