Loyola Professor Of Music Tech & More
Being able to create music on your own and successfully produce it requires two types of skills. The first skill is related to your own individuality and creativity – how are you going to write a song if you have nothing to say or no ideas running through your head? And even if you have something fresh and new, how are you going to get it into a song that we can all listen to? A large part of music creation is centered on the ability to use software and an understanding of how it can be crated digitally. In our heads we see the tech gurus and the creative artists as two different people, but many can choose to be both. An advanced degree in music is one thing, but I fear that it is not as spectacular as learning the engineering and science that goes into music production. There are some high paying jobs out there for true engineers, but again, this requires schooling and more than just the ability to make a catchy song. If you are in the profession and you are able to land a high paying job – you should consider yourself one of the lucky few. http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2013/06/new-on-hypebots-music-industry-job-board-loyola-professor-music-technology.html#more
