So much Dialogue!
Been working on the dialogue edit for Retribution today, just trying to get some levels sorted, as some parts were just a too quiet when they should be loud and vice versa. This was just due to adding a fair bit of ADR and theres still a couple of bits I cant quite get right, most of which, aren’t actually dialogue, but mainly grunts or shouts that don’t sound right going into other sentences. I’m sure I’ll sort it out in the next session, just need a bit of time on it!
Retribution - Foley (Inception Style)
In our fourth session, we concentrated on more movements and wanted to listen to the whole mix a bit more. we discovered that the ‘gun handling’ recordings had picked up a lot of drumming in the last session, but we thought to carry on and not waste any time. We then experimented a bit with the RX De-Noise plug-in and decided that when everything was recorded, we could go back and eliminate the drums from the recording.
This was another difficult session because (I think) the same band were in recording upstairs. An additional makeshift booth within the booth was created to try and combat the drum spill. We got as much as we could done then had to call it a day. Hopefully the next session will go a bit more smoothly!
Ugh... 3rd time today. :-/ #audioengineerproblems #thepleasureplex #protools
The hardest part about tracking is having to listen to a guy play a certain part 80 plus times to get it right. YES there is such thing as ear fatigue!
