Negro Rossa Ruido, 2020 Live performance. With Fran MM Cabeza de Vaca. Zé dos bois, Lisboa, 12/12/2020.
Negro (Negro Live set), Rossa (RSRJ RJRS) e Ruido (Antes de que desaparezca nuestro mundo, escribámoslo) são três peças que de forma diferenciada exploram momentos de desobediência subjectiva e colectiva. Como eixo principal, partilham a fuga ao relato discursivo, sustentadas numa materialidade estética do áudio e do texto, no som e sentido que lhe são associados. A Primeira das peças, NEGRO, fala-nos do desejo enquanto força motriz a partir de poemas que se apresentam numa linguagem sofisticada, trechos de um manifesto político em forma de poema, videoclips e loops líricos extremados. A Segunda, leva ao extremo as classificações binárias de género e identidade para as dissolver e conduzir ao delírio por via da combinatória (ao estilo literário de Gertrude Stein ou de composição musical de Steve Reich); e a Terceira toma como ponto de partida um relato antigo sobre uma gigantesca tormenta (cujo epicentro decorreu entre a Galiza e Portugal) para, num deslizar do sentido inicial de algumas palavras escolhidas e da sua sonoridade, a converter numa nova história acerca das mudanças no mundo que o ano das grandes revoltas de 2011 nos fizeram entrever. Independentemente dos sentidos pré-gravados e dos tons homogeneizados pelos discursos de ordem, vamos assistir a uma experiência de escuta abrindo passagem no corpo. Desejo + Dissolução + Mudança > uma imaginação.

Audiotext composed with Fran MM Cabeza de Vaca. Screened as an installation inside “Actually, the dead are not dead” (Württbergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart, 29 february - 2nd august 2020). Cancelled as a live perfomance on March 21st at WKV Stuttgart. Cancelled as a projection on March 22nd at Museo Reina Sofía.

“Nana de esta pequeña era / This little era lullaby” is an audiotext produced in summer of 2019 from a rewriting of the lyrics and music of Lorca & La Argentinita's 1931 recording of the popular “Nana de Sevilla”. Lullabies tend to name a monster (el coco) or a terrifying danger to warn babies to protect themselves. When the listener begins to drift into sleep, the singer progressively omits words until the song disappears. The ideal lullaby, Lorca said, would be the one built with only two notes. This lullaby for a deeply damaged world was created in the context of the project “Cancionero de la guerra social contemporánea / Songs for the contemporary social war” (Pedro G. Romero based on Guy Debord). Audiovideo. Co-authored and co-produced with Fran MM Cabeza de Vaca for Actually, the Dead Are Not Dead, Bergen Assembly, 5.9-10.11-2019, curated by Hans D. Christ and Iris Dressler in collaboration with Murat Deha Boduroğlu, Banu Cennetoğlu, María García, Hiwa K, Katia Krupennikova, Viktor Neumann, Paul B. Preciado, Pedro G. Romero, Simon Sheikh, and Emma Wolukau-Wanambwa, Bergen, Norwey.
This audiovideo belongs to the project Canciones de la Guerra Social Contemporánea (Songs of the Contemporary Social War), 2019, curated by María García and Pedro G. Romero, who has been endeavouring to reconstruct and put into circulation the songbook assembled by Debord under that title. Twenty-seven songs are presented in different ways – in compilations, concerts, performative presentations and grouped together with informational material. Artists contributing to the project include: Kiko Veneno, Maria Arnal, Christina Rosenvinge, Lorena Álvarez, Maialem Lujambo, Rocio Márquez, Andrés Duque, Julio Jara, Tomás de Perrate / Proyecto Lorca / María Marín, Javiera de la Fuente / José Ismael Sierra and Bettina Flatter.
