Alexander Gray for @steinsims bachorlorette/asylum challenge!
A naive young man born into a family of bakers, Alexander lived a fairly normal life until a neighbourhood fire claimed the lives of his parents, three siblings and their home bakery at the tender age of sixteen. He and his older sister Audrina were the only survivors.
Despite being able to rebuild their humble little bakery with what savings they had, the horrific event traumatized Audrina who claimed she could still hear the roar of fire, the lick of flames and the agonized screams of those who perished that day. The young woman who was once loved among their small town became the topic of gossip as her hysteria over the years grew.
Beside himself with worry over his sister’s deteriorating mental state as she became unable to work in the bakery, Alexander struggled to provide for the two of them and under the mounting pressure from the town, turned to The Dawn Garden’s Asylum for The Mentally Wayward Woman for help and had Audrina committed, under the impression that she would be in a better and safer place.
Helpless and feeling as if he’s abandoned his only family left, Alexander visits The Dawn’s Garden Asylum several times a week when he has spare time to keep Audrina company.
He's 21 years old, and Audrina is 24.
Despite Audrina willingly being committed, Alexander feels immense guilt over this and questions his choice frequently
He’s a very good baker and specializes in sweet pastries. Whenever he visits Audrina, he always bring her something to eat
Frugal and tries to save his money, the fear of losing everything again is always on the back of his mind
Very naive. Alexander can’t possibly fathom any of the patients at the asylum being mistreated and dismisses unfavorable rumors
Alexander suffers from PTSD due to the fire, but having to look after his sister forced him to struggle through it silently due to his trade as a baker. This has caused him to have violent outbursts and breakdowns
Viewed by the locals as a tragedy, due to first losing his family and then struggling to care for his sister, but Alexander is pretty happy-go-lucky
