hii, sorry this has been sitting in my inbox for so long! i meant to get this done ages ago but i struggled with the formatting 💔 this tutorial is for procreate but can be done on most art programs. this also works for other metallic items (swords, armor, etc)

this can also be done on photoshop with a curve adjustment layer set to overlay 🦭 (mask the areas you want to look metallic and skip the duplication steps shown above).

the fetishization of gay men's relationships will never go away. it frustrates me to no end that the majority of fan content of gay men's relationships are made by women. even when made by queer women - not that I'm mad at them for seeing room for a queer relationship and wanting to analyze it and write about it, there's not enough representation for queer women, but that's a different ball game especially in terms of characters being written with varying quality and leaving queer women with women characters who are poorly written and pushed together by fandom as an after thought - but its just! frustrating because . i want to see fan content made by gay men. made by trans gay men, even! i want to see stuff written by someone like me, instead of reading another woman's fantasy about two men. idk. like. theres nuance and stuff and this isnt meant to be a hot take but im tired. yk. im tired. obviously im not saying women shouldn't write gay men's relationships - the point of writing is to let people make whatever content they want. but i just. i wanna see more gay men writers uplifted in the community as a whole - especially writers of color ! im sure they even have a more nuanced and complex take on this when fandom is dominated by relationships between two white men while characters of color are pushed aside for them and made out to be a villain for getting in the way of these two white mens relationship. and its just ! its exhausting ! we are tired ! we are all so tired !
