august positivity✮

my psychologist has set me some rather annoying positivity prompts, so i'm expanding on them and turning it into a monthly thing - and i'll be recording it on tumblr, because it makes it easy for me to keep track of it (and for other people to hold me accountable). the idea is to build healthy habits and ways of thinking of my actions, and to set achieveable goals for myself to work towards - especially goals that take time, because it allows a focus for every day. it's also a helpful way to reflect on the good things that have happened recently, because i constantly get caught recalling bad, embarrassing, or sad moments.

what were the highlights for last month? ✮ the highlight was absolutely spinoff music festival, where i got to see conan gray and girl in red<3 as well as finding some new artists i love, and getting to hear the new joshua bassett album for the very first time. what did i learn from the last month? ✮ i learned that trying to predict what someone is thinking and act accordingly can actually do more harm than good, and that allowing people outside of relationships (platonic or romantic) to pass judgement on those relationships only does harm. what can i improve this month? ✮ this month i want to work on building a healthier outlet for my anger, and focus on completing every task i set out to achieve - be it schoolwork, writing, or lacrosse. what do i want to achieve this month? ✮ i want to write at least 20k words of fanfiction across the board (i wrote 800w today so a good start!) and maintain my personal trainings for lacrosse, as well as make a return to netball for the first time in two years. what is one thing i'm looking forward to this month? ✮ i'm really looking forward to sabrina carpenter's new album, which drops in a couple weeks - and also my louis tomlinson LIVE cd and tshirt will be shipped this month!! what is one thing i can do for myself this month? ✮ this month i'm aiming to maintain a pretty decent sleep schedule... which, i know i'm off to a bad start, it being midnight already, but!!!! thats alright. i also want to make a focus on not overdoing myself during sports trainings, esp. state lacrosse. what is one quote that i want to carry with me this month? ✮ "you can't change the place you're born, your hair, your name, your baby clothes, but getting here; you did that on your own." - look how far you've come, joshua bassett.
