August Jacobsen (September 9, 1868 - 1955) was a Norwegian landscape painter. He originally trained as a photographer so that he could take over his father's shop in Stavanger, but he wanted to paint. No school really suited him, whether in Paris or Copenhagen, but he traveled widely, sponging up inspiration, and developing into a capable (post-)Impressionist...
