I read over & it sounds great - you put across well why you continuously campaign for equal rights, which is great & shows your enthusiasm & reasoning. as for talking about uni & your xtra curricular activities in the field is super impressive, the fact i read a line about working in retail til this point didnt even matter because your bkgrnd in the field & how you have continued to volunteer & work unpaid far outweighs the fact you have little paid work experience in the field so far. A+
