I’m #currentlyreading City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare and then the prompt Favorite Fairy from #augustfantasychallenge came up. I can’t say the Fairy Queen from TMI is my favorite, but I do enjoy disliking her. HAHA. She’s cunning and devious, but also fierce. I’m thinking of that one time in City of Ashes when they all went to visit the Fairy Queen and you know. *wink* *wink* I don’t want to say because spoilers and my girls Crystal @crystalcandis, Dani @bookosaurus_rex, and Korilin @paperandcocoa are reading TMI right now. . Also, for this challenge the prompt Tom Riddle: Share a secret! Hmm. I don’t drink coffee. I suppose it’s not a secret, but it feels like it because everyone LOVES coffee and when I do admit that I don’t drink it, it’s like WHUT R U? 😳 I’ve tried, friends, but it’s just not meant to be. . I'm going on holiday tomorrow... Am I excited? 🤔 Hmmm... Kind of! I'm weird! I like holidays but I'm more excited about when my holiday is over... (bear with me)... I find the whole going on holiday process stressful, I hate leaving my dog, flying worries me, and I miss my stuff! I do however love the feeling when you return from holiday...your refreshed, ready for routine again, get to catch up with friends and (the best bit) sleep in my own bed!!! 🙈 Anyway... I am sort of excited and I will be celebrating the big 3️⃣0️⃣ whilst I'm there!!! In honor of Percy Weasley: Favorite Know-it-all and House Pride, I bring you the Golden Trio by Susanne @susanne_draws. This was an exclusive print done for the August Owlcrate @owlcrate. . As for favorite know-it-all, even though Percy was a very good know-it-all, my favorite is Hermione Granger! I admired her confidence in her intelligence and that she didn’t try to hide it! For #augustofpages, I’m #currentlyreading Winter with my #booktwin Amy @ladyofthelibrary. We’re heading toward the end fast and it’s bittersweet. I’ve enjoyed this series so much and I’m going to be sad when we finish. I’m happy that there will be more Lunar Chronicles next year. I can’t wait for Iko’s graphic novel Wires and Nerve and The Lunar Chronicles Coloring book. I received this preview from Fierce Reads of some of the pages from the coloring books. It’s amazing! . I’m late and posting out of order, but I still really want to do these prompts. I hope you guys don’t mind! . For #livelaughbooksaugust Favorite Fictional Pet, Miss Peregrine was the first that popped up in my mind. Most likely because I just finished the series, but I still loved this character. She’s not really a pet, but it would really be neat to have a friend who can also shape shift and manipulate time! This was one of those series that I thought about reading and then picked up because the movie is coming out next month. I thought I’d just read the first one to see what it was about, but I ended plowing through the rest of the books! I was really pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed these. I highly recommend them especially if you’ve been on the fence about reading them. Also, if you get a chance, I highly recommend the audio version as well! The narrator is very talented and captures each Peculiar character so well. . And did you guys know that next month’s Owlcrate’s theme is Darkness? And did you also know that there will be a Miss Peregrine’s themed bookish item in it? I’m SO excited. . For #augustfantasychallenge, Mad Lib: I married (name) for his/her (noun) and it feels (adjective)-Pick up a book and look on page 45. My book was Winter! Here’s my Mad Lib: I married WINTER for her STICKS and it feels EXOTIC. HAHAHA. That was fun! 😂

When I was thinking of the prompts Best character transformation for #anembertorchchallenge and #augustofpages Favorite female character, I had a hard time choosing! I know. No surprise here. 😅 If I’m honest, I’m always going to say Vin from Mistborn, but you guys are probably tired of me harping about this series, but you really do need Mistborn in your life! . Now that we’ve established my feelings for Vin, I’d like to also mention other fantastic heroines as well. Katsa from Graceling and Eona from Eon: The Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman @alisongoodmanauthor. I haven’t seen either of these on bookstagram that much, but I think these female characters have some of the best character transformations! Eona is an Asian inspired fantasy. Eona actually disguises herself as Eon, a boy who has trained to some day become a Dragoneye--an apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune. It’s forbidden for women to use Dragon magic and if she’s discovered, she will be killed. This is actually a duology! So YES you should read this. . Graceling by Kristin Cashore features Katsa, the king’s niece and thug. In this world, there are people called Gracelings—rare people born with an extreme skill. Katsa’s grace is killing. I don’t think I need to say anymore. You’re pretty much going to want to read this now. And YOU SHOULD!! . For #augustfantasychallenge, Who would be your Golden Trio? Hmm. It's Wednesday and I don't work on Wednesdays so YEY!!! 🙌 That said my mum is coming over shortly to "help" me tidy up my house 😒 This month has been super crazy and I have essentially lost control of the laundry, the dishes, being able to find my bed...I don't even have bread or coffee in the house 😱 So because I am doing such an awful job at being a functioning grown up- my mum is coming to help me get it back under control...so hopefully when I next post it will be from the land of the clean and functional!!! 😇 #lilbookishaugust - forever on my #tbr - Vixen...this book sounds intriguing and looks gorgeous- it isn't even a intimidating size...but every time I pick it up to read I put it straight back down again! For #augustfantasychallenge, Goblins or Dwarves? I have to say that I’d pick dwarves particularly the dwarves from The Lord of the Rings. I have a soft spot for Gimli son of Glóin. I loved his brashness and his humor. I also enjoyed how he became friends with Legolas. Their friendship was fantastic. . For #anembertorchchallenge, The Augurs: Ancient beings/creatures, wraiths are my favorite. The wraiths in LOTR and in any fantasy story where they represent death and darkness is my favorite evil creature. I loved the history of the wraiths in LOTR--Kings who were greedy for power and accepted Sauron’s rings and eventually became enslaved by them. How about you guys?
