"There you are, sweetheart, sorry I'm late." ( nikola )

Z had arranged for them to meet up for a walk, for a bit of a stroll to enjoy the cooler fall weather. They knew they had to be careful in order to best accommodate Nikola whenever possible. But they did find a cool location that they thought she would really appreciate.

Upon finally seeing their arrival, Z smiled at her - waving, genuinely glad to see them actually able to make it. Zora hadn't had many thoughts but - one never knew what might happen on the way to a meeting point.

Life had funny things that happened all the time really.

"Ah. Hello.. it's so nice to see you.. I wasn't waiting too long I promise." They happily approached so that they welcome her into a small embrace, eager to enjoy that little bit of contact before heading off on their walk for the evening.

"It's a present for you. Come see." ( nikola! )

Zora couldn't help but be genuinely curious about what Nikola had gotten for them. Of course they were always pleased to be able to spend some time with her given the opportunity. Sharing space, being able to travel and keep each other's company. It was the kind of warm bonding that they genuinely cherished.

"I'm excited to see what it could be... thank you so much for getting me anything." Surely, Nikola knew that she wasn't under too much obligation to do anything in particular for them. But Z also knew that wouldn't stop their dearest from showing care in whatever way that she could.

They are now approaching, trying to get a better look at what Nikola could have for them.

"Seems everyone in this family's got problems." ( columbia )

zora and columbia had been doing a little people-watching. and frankly the things that they had seen in passing by was definitely an indictment of the kind of things that were common.

something something about those in a society reproducing the same harms that this society is reliant on.

"and the way that they take out their problems on each other makes things all the more difficult. to think these kinds of explosions happen constantly among varying families... i suppose it's no wonder that things get so difficult out in the world."

"I just don’t understand how this could have happened." ( columbia )

there were moments where zora simply has to pause, to stop in the midst of the ridiculous things that they were prone to experience. as much as they liked to get to the reasons, the context in which certain things happened.

they had to learn the hard way that there was often no overarching cause behind so much. systems, material conditions - sure they explained a good amount of things.

but there was plenty of room for the sheer inexplicable. and that's what they seemed to be looking at with columbia at this moment.

and to think they were just trying to run a simple errand.

".... it's almost kind of funny. but we gotta find our way out of this one way or another."
