New clamping mechanism for the end effector that holds the bamboo in place. Because we're using an anisomorphic material (bamboo) we needed a flexible, yet secure method of clamping. We found replacement disk ratchet laces for bicycle shoes that do the trick
OCTO’s UI Research team testing out the LED system for the HIVE. The LED’s are embedded in the node connectors that connect the tensegrity units in the pavilion structure. They will tell participants exactly where their unit needs to go on the structure. When the pavilion is finished, we can use the LED’s to run light shows.
Using teach mode to try out the reach and joint angles for the measuring sequence in the Hive pavilion- since we are using bamboo the ideal design of perfectly straight, regular sticks will not match the as-built so we have a calibration sequence using computer vision but we need to make sure there is space for the robot to reach all 6 end points.
