University Press designers often face the unique challenge of designing book covers within a global community of scholars. This can sometimes mean "translating" design for specific audiences and fields of study.⠀ 

⠀ Here's a great recent example: The Genocidal Gaze by Elizabeth R. Baer. The cover on the left, designed by Nambowa Malua, is for the University of Namibia Press edition. The cover on the right, designed by Rachel S. Ross, was published by Wayne State University Press.⠀ ⠀   ・・・
