ARIA: ...are you home?
ARIA: just wondering.
Seeing her at the winter ball at been pretty jarring, even more so taking into consideration that they had actually danced together, something Silas hadn’t planned on doing at all. Now, he wouldn’t say that he had been avoiding her necessarily...okay, fine. He had been avoiding her, but it had been for both of their benefits really. Surely it had been as awkward for Allegra to think about the next morning as it had been for him. So really he was doing them both a favor by staying away so that they didn’t have to have the awkward conversation. That favor of avoidance seemed to be coming to an end though as Silas made his way into the library, practically freezing when he realized there she was, right there in front of him at the study tables and...fuck. Okay, so she seemed to have seen him. Great. There was no running any longer. This was fine, it was all fine, Silas told himself as he made his way over, offering a soft smile. “Ally, hey. Didn’t get to really tell you goodnight after the dance and all that. Did you end up staying long?” @allegratriton
He was tired and if he had to read another chapter of text, it would be too soon as far as Silas was concerned. But, there was an upside to everything. A long day of studying deserved a delicious treat. At least, that’s what Silas was telling himself in order to justify the impromptu trip to Tiana’s Place. It had been a long day of being glued to the textbooks and there was nothing wrong with treating yourself when you had worked long and hard, right? No, there wasn’t. A few beignets were the perfect reward for a job well done and he could practically taste that delicious goodness and Silas was led inside and seated in a booth. His hands came together in delight as he barely had to glance at the menu, ready to spout out his order the moment his server appeared. Seeing an approaching body out of the corner of his eye, the boy joyfully looked up, ready to put in his order for the sugary delight before that smile quickly fell. “Oh...crap. Um...I don’t mean this in like a rude way, but maybe...another section?” @allegratriton
These sorts of parties had been something Silas had gone to for as long as he could remember, and this one was no different. It couldn’t be. He couldn’t just stop going to things, stop being the social creature that he was. It just wouldn’t do. So, there he was, sipping slowly from his drink and giving quick nods of greeting towards people as they passed, even mustering up a smile for some. There had always been at least one thing he had enjoyed about these gatherings, outfits. People’s outfits had always been so unique, he couldn’t help but appreciate them as they passed, even if his own was rather basic. Then he spotted someone he couldn’t ignore, though he also fought the urge to approach her. At least, he had for a moment before giving in and making his way over to the girl. Silas cleared his throat slightly before offering her a soft smile. “Ally, you look...great. I mean, you always look great just, formal wear. You wear it...good. You dress good. I mean - you know what I mean.” @allegratriton
His friends really should have watched him closer. At least that’s what Silas told himself as he continued to move through the crowd. He was drunk, he couldn’t be held responsible for his actions, especially the really stupid ones such as approaching his ex at a party that he really didn’t need to even look her direction at. His chest rose and fell with each couple of steps he took, his hand still clutching on his cup though all his liquid courage was basically gone. He wasn’t too far now, Ally clearly in his sights, but he wasn’t too close either. This was still something he could walk away from, realize how stupid he was being and just head home. But Silas had never really been the socially brilliant type. Sure he was loved in a crowd, but that was all the charisma and hardly his own concious being. So he continued on, approaching the redhead and raising his cup in a small gesture. “Nice um, costume. You’re here. Obviously you’re here. Right. Cool cool cool, um so you here with anyone? I mean, I am, obviously. Well not with but...friends, I came with friends.” @allegratriton
