My jaw dropped looking at a course description
So I'm a freshman in college, and I'm looking through all the courses I have to take to get a Bachelor of Music degree, and I was wondering, "What is the final boss of the music courses?" So I scrolled down to the hardest aural (ear) skills course that I have to take, and it all seemed pretty doable until the last line.
My eyes widened and my jaw was agape as I read the phrase, "four-part harmonic dictation."
For those of you who don't know: harmonic dictation is when you listen to a recording of playing and you have to write down all the notes it played with correct pitches and rhythm, and you're not aloud to make any sound or use a keyboard. Four-part harmonic dictation means listening to a track and writing down four parts playing at the same time. I honestly thought that was impossible.
