Adaman + Aurora bc I’m feeling unhinged
no close-ups bc I lowkey feel lazy abt this one
hi I
Morning sunlight spilled through the woven shutters, painting soft, golden stripes across the timber floor and the low, tidy chaos of the Diamond Clan leader’s home. Aurora was already up, as she always was, bustling quietly between the stove and the table, sleeves rolled to her elbows, hair pinned back in a hasty knot that let a few bright strands tumble free. The scent of simmering porridge mingled with the sharper aroma of wildberries, and the laughter and chatter of the children filled the space with bright, living warmth.
Today, Adaman was home. His haori was draped on a peg, boots by the door, an ease in his shoulders that hadn’t been there in weeks. The mass outbreaks had relented, if only for a day, and the clan leader could finally spend a morning with his family.
Their three children—Athena with her wild red hair, Iris with her cool violet locks, and Eden, all tousled blue and gold—swarmed the table, helping themselves with the greedy joy only young kids could muster. Leafeon, ever patient, lay near the hearth, tail twitching as Eden tried to sneak him a bit of roasted fish.
Aurora was careful. She’d been careful for weeks now, choosing draping tunics, tying her sash a little higher, and moving with a practiced ease that warded away suspicion. She’d confided in the children; they were her co-conspirators, sworn to secrecy, though Eden, with his open face and wide eyes, was far less subtle than his sisters. Athena and Iris cast sidelong glances at their father, watching for any flicker of realization, while Eden, distracted by play, seemed liable to blurt the secret at any moment.
Adaman, for his part, lingered at the table, sipping his tea, sharp eyes tracking his wife's movement. Aurora moved with practiced ease, but Adaman noticed the way she lingered when she bent wipe their youngest's face, the subtle awkwardness with which she shifted her weight, the faint flush of effort on her cheeks. For the first time, her clothes didn’t quite conceal the gentle swell of her belly. His gaze lingered, a knowing smile flickering at the corner of his mouth, but he said nothing as Aurora hummed and pressed a kiss to the top.
The children’s eyes darted between their parents. Athena and Iris exchanged a look, the conversation between the two daughters forgotten. Eden, oblivious or simply unbothered, abandoned his meal to chase Leafeon once more. The little Pokémon twitched its leafy tail, eyes shining with tolerant affection as it allowed itself to be caught. In a flash of exuberance, Eden tumbled straight into his mother's side, arms flung around her waist. Aurora let out a soft breath, hand instinctively cupping her bump as she steadied herself and pressed a loving palm to Eden’s hair.
Adaman’s eyes narrowed just a fraction, his suspicions finally settling into quiet certainty. He watched, tea halfway to his lips, hiding his smile behind the rim of the cup as Aurora ruffled Eden’s hair and reassured him with a gentle squeeze.
The children finished their meal and darted outside, Leafeon in tow, leaving the house suddenly quiet except for the gentle clatter of dishes. Aurora set about cleaning, sleeves rolled, humming to herself as she washed the bowls, shoulders relaxing for the first time all morning.
She didn’t hear Adaman approach until his arms slipped around her from behind, palms gentle and warm as they settled over the gentle swell of her belly. He pressed a kiss to her neck, breath soft against her skin, his voice low and teasing, “How far along are you?”
Aurora stiffened, fingers pausing in the soapy water, then sighed, a small laugh escaping her. “Twelve weeks,” she admitted, turning just enough to see his face. “I was going to tell you, but… well, you’ve been so busy, and then I kept getting swept up in things, and—”
Adaman hummed, his hold never loosening, his face buried in her hair. “Yeah, things have been wild lately with all the mass outbreaks. But…” he nuzzled her, lips brushing her ear, “I had my suspicions.”
Aurora blinked, genuinely surprised, and turned in his embrace, brows lifted. “You did?”
Adaman grinned, his eyes bright with mischief and pride. “You think I wouldn’t notice? You’ve been more tired lately. Half the time I come to bed, you’re already passed out. Or how sick you were the past couple of weeks. And how suddenly you decided you can’t stand the smell of roasted magikarp—which is one of your favorite dishes.” He nuzzled her neck, lips trailing up to her jaw, his tone soft and teasing. “And don’t get me started on your salt cake cravings. You know I had to ask Irida to enlist Warden Gaeric’s help in getting all that crunchy salt.” He winked. “I know my wife.”
She laughed, blushing, and swatted his shoulder lightly. “So you noticed all that, but never said anything?”
“I wanted to see how long you’d keep up the act. Besides, it was cute watching you and the kids try to outwit me—though Eden’s about as subtle as a stampede of Stantler.” He pressed another kiss to her cheek, arms never straying from her belly.
Aurora’s voice softened, shadows flickering in her eyes. “So, you’re not upset?” She hesitated, searching his face. “It wasn’t planned. I thought we were content with just three, and I worried—”
Adaman’s laughter rumbled in his chest, bright and utterly unguarded as he hugged her tight, lifting her just enough to make her laugh despite herself. “Aurora, why would I ever be upset about this?” He set her down carefully, cupping her face in his hands. “I want as many children as you’ll give me. You know that.”
She flushed, flustered but glowing, and he leaned in to kiss her, full of promise and pride. When he pulled back, his grin was rakish, eyes glinting with mischief. “Honestly, with how often we can’t keep our hands off each other, it was only a matter of time.” He waggled his brows, smug.
Aurora rolled her eyes, cheeks warm, and slapped his chest with mock indignation. “That’s your fault for never letting me get any sleep, you know.”
Adaman caught her hand, pressing a kiss to her knuckles, and wrapped her up in his arms once more. “Wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said, voice fierce and loving.
Outside, the children’s laughter rang through the sunlit yard, Leafeon’s happy yip carrying on the breeze.
Her name is Aurora, I haven't come up with a biography for her yet, but I think she may be another astral body. She was created on the basis of the northern lights, she loves the cold, is very calm, wise and kind :3
