There wasn't much Jackson could do or wanted to do. The apartments were on fire and well, shit happens. All he could do was get the word out and hope that people were out in time. He did end up finding himself watching the smoke rise from the city park. He had been sitting on a bench as others either passed or were rushing to get to their destination. It was was weird witnessing the chaos that was occurring, but it wasn’t like that town hadn’t had it’s fair share of it lately. He stood as he needed to head home to check on his mother. Just as he was about to walk towards his car, he noticed another person watching the smoke as well. “Glad to know I’m not the only one watching the show.” He said as he approached them.

It would have been smarter to get into the ambulance with Annette; Lucas knew that now, and yet, he still regretted not doing it. Nevertheless, it wasn't long before he was brought into the hospital, much to his protests, even if he was running out of breath, and his arm really was hurting. After multiple tests and a whole bunch of protests from Lucas, he was bandaged up and provided with oxygen, along with a whole bed for himself, even if he knew he didn't need it. This wasn't even the worst thing that had happened to him, and frankly, he was worried.

"Have you seen an old lady?" He asked the person walking by. He wished he could just get up and walk himself; now that the painkillers were working and he was getting oxygen, he felt fine. It wasn't like him to just stay still. "Black hair with grey strands, likes to cuss everyone out? She lived in one of the apartments. Eleventh floor?"

After a while of Blake panicking in front of Ocean Crest Apartments, she found out that her friends were okay, so she could calm down. Her panic started to spiral again when she knew she didn't have her belongings nor a place. She didn't wanna go to the shelter and annoy people with her nervous self so she did the next thing. She went to her friend, Aiden's house. She couldn't call or text him since she left her phone in the apartment in a hurry, so all she could do was show up. After she did, she knocked on his door, a stressed expression as she waited for him to open the door up. "Aiden!" She called out loud enough for him to hear her, her voice shaky as it cracked. She then waited. She didn't wanna seem annoying by the constant screaming or knocking.

Sully was a nervous wreck. He had been working as the fire happened and he wasn’t there to make sure his family got out of the apartments. . He didn’t even have a chance to ask if anyone had gotten hurt, but when he saw his little sister Sera missing from the group of Shaw siblings outside of the building he started to panic. Sully couldn’t handle the waiting game and was pacing outside trying not to let his nerves get the better of him. They told him Sera was okay, but they were just checking her in an ambulance to make sure she didn't inhale too much smoke, but the good news did little to comfort him. “ I don't know if I can do this “ he mumbled to himself. He was feeling like a failure of a guardian. “ I’m completely screwing this up. “ he noted again before letting out a sigh. “ oh.... hi” he replied realizing as soon as he looked up that he wasn’t alone.

The fact he was in that there was a huge spotlight on him now because of the fire made Jameson start to feel incredibly uncomfortable. He knew he hadn’t lived a life of being a stand up citizen but he had been trying his best since he got out. There were a few missteps along the way though and the fact that very week he’d been seen getting into a fight with another apartment resident didn’t look good, especially with the apartment on fire. “ I think I arleady answered all of your partners questions “ Jameson replied, keeping his tone as neutral as he could; so it didn’t get misconstrued as being aggressive.

Wes had stopped by Evie's apartment that night to show her the engagement ring he'd finally bought for Liza after weeks of extra hours and hard work at that hell hole called Neptune. He'd spent far less time with Liza because of it, which was sad but it was for her, in a way.

And Wes was just leaving Evie's so he could head back to his apartment before leaving to stay the weekend at Liza's when he heard a commotion just before the alarms in the building started going off, initially startling him but he honestly thought nothing of it at first, knowing Evie and Darcy had both set off the smoke alarms before just by trying to cook something in the microwave.

The alarms didn't stop him from heading towards his own apartment, but once he got on his floor he started to smell smoke, "hey.. what's going on?" He asked the other in the hall as he saw them almost rushing towards the stairs.

They were about….two hundred yards away from the ambulance that had checked Hindley and herself out for smoke inhalation when Carrie had been forced to sit down heavily on the grass. Still holding her little blonde son to her chest tightly she was rocking him back and forth, gently whispering in his ear that he was safe, everything would be alright. Anything she could to drown out the chaos around them because honestly the woman had no idea where she was meant to go. She’d only been back in town for about a week, the only person from her past that knew about her son was someone who also lived in the same apartment block that was currently on fire, and really she was too shell shocked to make any rational decisions in this moment. Hair tumbled down on either side of her face as she pressed a couple of kisses to the whimpering child’s temple, knowing she was covered in sweat and soot but not caring. They were out safely, that was all that mattered. Carrie was so in her own world she didn’t notice Gavin nearby, maybe because she didn’t expect to see him here, it’s not like he lived at the Ocean Crest Apartments. “You’re okay….you’re okay…” She repeated over and over, not sure who she was trying to convince, herself or the baby.
