💖 To say that it’s been busy, it seems like the wrong way to describe the past week and three days. Life has always been busy - but busy before meant running between jobs, shows, rehearsals... This new busy involves feeds, diapers, pumping, drinking water, and laundry (oh the laundry). I’ve been lucky to have my Man @mitchelldoxtater home for the first week and my Saint of a Mother who opted not to enjoy her week of vacation time, rather to spend the second week of adjusting with me cleaning the house and helping me with Layla. I have left the house a handful of times and been behind the wheel once to pick up meds and get my first trip with Aurora out of the way. The hypersensitivity you experience as a new parent hasn’t been as aggressive this time around. I remember the first time I brought Layla to Walmart and couldn’t focus on anything but who and what was around me. Life is amazing! ❤️ Mitchell and I took a cast of my belly this week at 38 weeks pregnant. With only 11 more days until Aurora’s due date, I’ve been taking a lot of time just reflecting and being mindful and appreciating the current norm I can’t wait to hold my little. At the same time, I’m trying to give my Big Girl lots of love and share in her excitement So much has happened over the past week and a bit since my Birthday. ♥️ It’s been said that “It takes a Villiage to raise a child”. This is a statement that resonates with me as truth more than ever this morning as I am still overwhelmed with shock, and awe from the outpouring of love received yesterday from family and friends. A Rock A Bye Baby SHOW-er for Aurora Dawn Wells - Doxtater yesterday was a day I’ll never forget. As plans for the event took initial shape some weeks ago, I would have never imagined the outcome, or turnout. I am completely humbled by the love and support Mitchell, Layla, Aurora and I have received from the very beggining. Yesterday was no exception - and further affirmation that “Our Villiage”, is populated by the most generous, gracious, loving, selfless, nurturing, welcoming, accepting, giving, talented, hard working, efficient, and determined people we know, and love. ♥️ Whether it was baking sweets, sandwiches, or other delectables, buying, making & hanging decorations, playing music, taking photos, cleaning, loading gear, entertaining children, coordinating games, following-up logistics, cleaning the venue, providing the venue, attending, sending well wishes, participating in games, sticking around to help pack up.... everyone was there to show their support and have a good time welcoming a special little girl who is already so preciously loved. As we come literal days away from meeting our sweet baby girl, I am so grateful to have our support system filled with such love and compassion. The words truly cannot do justice to express my gratitude for all involved yesterday, and every other day in between. 🤰🏼76 or less (hopefully not more) days until Aurora Dawn Wells-Doxtater makes her debut and I am super excited... . Everything is coming together at the house and as much as I am physically aware that this if for real and I am making adjustments daily to compensate for the aches and pains, I am mentally still swallowing... . I reminisce about the struggles I had being a new single Mom with Layla - how difficult it was... and even tho I know it will be hard, tiring, and trying... I know that I will be so thankful to have my family and support team to complete this Wells - Doxtater equation... . Mitchell has been the the absolute sweetest the whole journey, and watching Layla develop her own sense of maternal/protective big-sister demeanour has been such a blessing... .
