No matter how much he tried to twist it, the number of times he’d tried to find a path through this event that felt like a path he himself would have walked down, Peter simply couldn't find one. Events like this simply weren’t his comfort zone. In fact, a part of him felt they were a little too over the top. Whether that was due to the event itself or much rather the behavior of certain individuals around him, the former Gryffindor couldn’t have picked out the reason even if it had stared him in the face. It had taken what felt like hours before the wizard had finally found a face that was familiar. All the luckier that it had turned out a friend much rather than a simple acquaintance around whom he may have needed to watch his words just that much more.
“I’ve got to admit, I didn’t account for quite as many pompous peacocks to be walking about.” Peter found himself chuckling, laughter growing as he turned toward his friend. “You know I’m right. This is, quite frankly, ridiculous.” And not the spell, no. He was rather familiar with that one. Peter moved his hand through his hair, shaking out the mess that was for once styled out. “Little too explosive for my taste. Someone might chip their nail.”
