What’s In A Name?

The discordant chime of the bell over the door of Borgin & Burke’s was a familiar sound to Draco’s ears, but that didn’t make it pleasant. Still, one could easily hear worse things in Knockturn Alley so he didn’t grimace as he let the door to the dusty old shop swing shut behind him--
And froze, wide-eyed and stiff, as he recognized the witch scowling at him from the other side of the narrow, dingy street: Violet Burke. Despite her sharing a name with the shop which Draco had just exited, he knew that there was no chance she was here to either patronize or tend the store; no, Violet Burke was an Auror, and it was her title rather than her name that made Draco’s blood go cold and sluggish in his veins even as his heart sped-up as though it had just seen a Snitch.
The “prize” in this case wasn’t 150 points, but the threat of a one-way ticket to Azkaban -- not that Draco had been doing anything illegal, but what did that matter? He was a Malfoy and a Death Eater and she was an Auror. To some, those were all the facts that would matter and the logic of reality had no bearing on his panic.
“I’m not doing anything wrong,” he blurted, before his brain could stop the words. Draco winced; there are few phrases that make one sound as guilty as an unsolicited protestation of innocence.
