“you believe Grindelwald will try to come to Hogwarts?“ the idea sounds absurd. but nothing stops the dark wizard to step foot in the school. nothing but one man. “as long as Professor Dumbledore is here, he would not approach. nevermind how many pure-bloods are here.“ he knows well. Tom listens, and he observes, how those of pureblood families, those with purist thoughts had been embracing the man’s ideas with fervour thought. he could care less. his disdain for muggles comes from his own heritage.

 but the good outweighs the bad. and he now knows who he is, heir to slytherin. green gaze observes the woman before him. a MACUSA Auror in school grounds. interrogating students. “what is it that you are trying to find, ma’am? I can assure you most of my friends would never dare to join grindelwald.” because they were joining him.  “as for me, i’m a half-blood myself. that should answer your question.”

     for some reason, newt couldn’t take his mind off their goodbye.

     tina goldstein was a woman he barely knew, and yet he’d become inexplicably drawn to her during his stay in new york. and now, sitting on the deck looking back at the land that was slowly disappearing, he was doubting his decision to leave.

     but he knew he had to. there was work to be done, back home, and putting that all off for a woman he’d only just met was foolish, to be sure. 

     newt was used to being reclusive, but leaving new york really made him feel alone, for reasons he couldn’t explain.

      so much so that before they’d really even entered international waters, he was penning a letter to her, thanking her properly for everything, and promising to return with a copy of his published book.

     even so, the publishing date was likely to be several months away. newt would have to stay in london for most of that time, and staying in one place too long was difficult for him even in ordinary circumstances. no, what he really hoped, though he would never admit it to himself, was that she would invite him back sooner, before his book was finished.

     because if she sent for him, he would come.

I very much enjoy seeing you on my dash as you're offering so much love and understanding for Newt. I'm in awe when I'm stalking over your threads, which I'm finding myself doing more than you can imagine. I can't wait to see how you progress with you. Fantastic writer.

( note ) upon receiving another one of these, I had initially decided to save it for a rough day… after today I’m quite glad I made that decision. for many reasons today certainly wasn’t the greatest but seeing this made it at least a slight bit better before I lay down and tried to rest my (aching) head. thank you so much for the kind words, doubly so for the effect they have on me when needed. I’m honored you pour over my threads, and I only hope that I never disappoint what have come to establish themselves as your expectations for my writing.

Oh, he recognises that look. a look he had seen in many of his followers’ families, those who disagree with his vision. with how the future should be. queenie to his side, grindelwald simply nods with his head as the witch dissapears from sight, leaving him and the auror before him all on their own.“Oh Tina.“ his voice, taking the form of that of his previous disguise, Percival Graves had served him good, as he could gather more of those who think like him.

 Distinct gaze locks with the witch before him, a sympathy stare coming through, voice silk as a whisper. “Such potential, a waste, you will take your chances with Mr. Scamander, and his alliance with Dumbledore.” His old friend had credit though, both wizards were phenomenal, and it was only a shame he had not gotten to them first.  “your sister had seen the greater good, if only you could join me, you would be   magnificent.”

        “    graves??    is that really a name??    ”    quite a depressing one,  and perhaps that was a bit rude of him to start out with,  but he couldn’t help the curiosity as it surfaced when the woman called him out.    he let out a huff of a laugh and shook his head after a moment.    “    ah,  désolée.    but who are you looking for??    ”
