DISCLAIMER: You may have seen some other muses on this blog that haven’t actually been given bios before. These are new side muses that are part of the whole Mighty Atom Lore. Bowen Chuuno is of course still the main muse of this blog and always will be, these are just additional muses that are used in certain stories and RPs. Due to the nature of these muses (Powers, Story arcs, etc) they are considered Request Only.
It is also important to note that this is a new character. Information may be added/modified as development progresses.
Auryn Ludum
Auryn Ludum (Pronounced Loo-dum) is a space traveller, roaming the cosmos in search of new adventure and opportunity in his craft, the Alpha Nova, growing up in a future after the era of Bowen Chuuno, the Atomite before him.
He had always wanted to go into space when he was a child idolising space heroes and reading space comics throughout his studies. His grades and physical capabilities showed promise that he would become a valuable asset to the Space Force. Eventually he would become one of their best pilots, adversely skilled in dogfighting, even when he seemed outnumbered in battle. He was extremely remarkable as a soldier as well, remaining unchallenged in range and melee combat.
His time in the Space Force quickly earned him a reputation, not only in terms of his flying antics, but also due to his daring skills in fighting against the odds. Eventually he earned the nickname ‘Ludum Dare’ for his heroism, so named after the vintage comic book hero, ‘Dan Dare’. Such a nickname has gone beyond the Space Force, thanks to some media coverage of his bravery in certain incidents.
After a good number of years in the Space Force, he would later on leave the military career behind to explore the cosmos on his own. With the money he had from his fighting years, he would go on to purchase his own spaceship, the Alpha Nova.. and after fixing it up and updating it with the latest equipment, he would venture off into the vastness of space, to seek out new and exciting adventures and do even more good in the universe.
Due to such travels, it is likely he will achieve a feat of multiversal significance in the future, if he has not done so already, whether it’s in his solo career or previously in the Space Force. He wants to see the universe and all the worlds safe and peaceful for future generations, plus of course he does enjoy the thrill of going on new adventures and kicking a** when the chances arise.
Auryn has two main outfits. He has this outfit mainly for when he’s actually out on adventures and this outfit for more formal occasions, such as when he’s at space stations, populated planets, etc. However, he doesn’t do such all the time, so it’s not surprising if he sometimes uses the more formal outfit on an adventure or his adventuring outfit in civilisation, it just depends on his mood.
Auryn Ludum is considered to be a character in terms of his behaviour. He enjoys having fun, even if it involves lightly stirring others. Most of the time he’s seen with a smile on his face. Very outgoing and adventurous, always taking the opportunity to jump into situations where he’s needed, whether they be dangerous or not. People refer to him as a space cowboy for his antics, as well as pulling off what can sometimes be impossible feats. He also has a caring side to him, for he cannot stand seeing people troubled, for whatever reason. Injustice is intolerable, no matter who commits it.. and he’ll seek to deliver what is deserved. He’s very optimistic most of the time, even in the most dire of circumstances, always finding a way out and turning the situation around. That being said, you don’t want to be on the receiving end of justice, for if he’s the one delivering, it will very much be served, with the fiercest determination.
The Alpha Nova is quite an impressive ship, even more so that it’s all operated by one man. Auryn had bought and upgraded the ship with the mindset of recruiting future travellers to help crew the ship. It’s also got a smaller ship in the cargo hold, purely for fighting, in the event that such a situation comes about. Still, the Alpha Nova’s an extremely quick ship, both normally and in FTL travel, not just from the aerodynamic design, but also due to the modified engines and FTL technology. The Alpha Nova itself can be used as a dogfighter, though the Gs on such a big ship can be on the extreme side in comparison with the dedicated fighter craft. Still, it has served Auryn well in his adventures so far and with hope and dedication, that such a ship will continue to guide him well into the future.
(NOTE: Auryn Ludum’s timeline occurs in the future. The death of Bowen Chuuno is a prerequisite to his birth. This means he cannot exist unless Bowen has died prior.)
