1. Caris

Caris (and Demelza) has 2 shots out there, but I only considered the top one for this ranking since it was shown at panel. It was fantastic watching Caris work on set and her efforts paid off with a truly stellar photo. This is the most beautiful she’s ever looked and she managed to connect super well even with hair over her face. It’s extraordinary how her eyes are able to convey innocence and vulnerability while still being sexy and seductive all at the same time. Her pose is excellent as well, I adore how she propped up her head on her hand and dropped her shoulder back to not lose her neck. Her second shot is also strong, but I’m glad it wasn’t chosen for panel. The pose is good and I love how piercing her eyes are, but I wish she didn’t block off her face so much with her arm. Caris nailed both halves of this week and she was completely robbed of the FCO at panel!

2. Alexandra

Alexandra’s face is so sensational in this photograph. Her magnificent eyes are simply electric and she brought a ton of sensuality to her expression without going over the top. I’m also impressed by how amazing her body looks from such an atypical angle and I love what she did with her arms, though I wish she had stretched out more to the side. Alexandra has been rather quiet for the past few photoshoots, but this shot put her right back at frontrunner status for me. It’s some of her best work yet!

3. Samantha

Samantha delivers again, and I’m just blown away by her beauty. The asymmetry of her facial features works brilliantly here. She really excels when it comes to bringing a serene expression and this is no exception (I was hoping for a different mood from her, but at least her approach fits this brief). My only complaints are that her hands look really strange at the top of the frame, and I think she could’ve brought more sex appeal. It’s not exactly Samantha’s most innovative work, but she still met the assignment with a strong shot.

4. Alyce

Alyce stepped it up from the first part of this week (though she had nowhere to go but up). Her bone structure looks absolutely amazing, the angle is perfect for her high cheekbones and sharp jawline. She could’ve softened up her expression just a tad and given some more neck, but I still love how she appears lost in thought/contemplation while gazing off into the distance. This photo definitely saved Alyce from being ousted this week.

5. Demelza

Demelza (and Caris) has 2 shots out there, but I only considered the top one for this ranking since it was shown at panel. Normally I love natural and unposed shots, but nothing about this really appeals to me. Demelza’s body language is so uptight and her hunched shoulders don’t work from this angle. Her expression also makes her look like a celebrity on vacation who’s pissed at the paparazzi for following her around. One of the most puzzling FCOs of the season. Her other picture is pretty good. Her eyes are super fierce and her face is gorgeous, but there’s also something a bit horror movie-esque about how she’s emerging from the water.

Side note: my favorite part of this episode was the deliberation where Johdi Meares said “We can definitely all agree that Demelza’s shot is my favorite of the whole series!” and most of the other judges were basically like “.........um, no.”

6. Rebecca

This is such a nothing photo. Rebecca is a beautiful girl, but in this shot her features seem distorted and she looks slightly cross-eyed. She lost her neck, her mouth is too tense, and her expression is just lost. Rebecca’s elimination was unsurprising and deserved. She had been steadily declining since week 2 and her modeling skills actually seemed to regress over time instead of improving.
