1. Tahnee

Tahnee has finally arrived! Her face is just breathtaking and her shot has both commercial and high fashion appeal. I love how her eyes have a mysterious quality to them, and she struck a perfect balance of hardness and vulnerability with her expression. I could definitely see this shot working as an advertisement for skin care, hair products, etc. There were quite a few excellent shots this week, but Tahnee surpassed them all and received a well earned FCO from both me and the judges!

2. Clare

I was in full agreement with the judges’ comments about Clare’s picture being reminiscent of Galadriel from Lord of the Rings, this is something right out of a fantasy. Her face photographed perfectly being directly straight on and I love her inhalation. I’m also blown away by how her eyes are super powerful but manage to be soft and ethereal at the same time. Clare had been doing well up til now, but this was the first time I began to see her as a threat to win the whole thing!

1 – Eloise

Eloise just completely knocked it out of the park with this shot, this is genuine supermodel territory with this shot. Eloise doesn’t have the strongest face, so I think taking this slight side angle was a great choice, gives the shot this additional depth. The connection between the camera and her is on fire, there is a virtually electricity every time I look at the photo. This ad could sell me anything, hair products, make-up, the clothes even though we see so little. This was Eloise’s moment on the show, and the fact she is gone in the next episode is a tragedy.

2 – Clare

I love that this photo and Tahnee’s are so similar, I would have absolutely loved to have seen a shoot with both of them together, sort of a light and dark vibe going on between them. Her facial expression mirrors Tahnee’s, from the parted lips to the strength in the eyes. Clare’s hair looks absolutely incredible here, really helps her eyes immediately pop in the photo. Her eye shape is also really fascinating too. In terms of a beauty shot, this really is perfection, and it is one of my favourite shots of the cycle

3 – Tahnee

Finally, our future winner enters the competition in week 3. This is a breath-taking photograph, and I am fully okay with it getting first call-out. My ranking of the top 3 is purely personal preference. The expression is divine, there is this harmony of harsh and soft, with the strength in the eyes and the slightly parted lips. It is the first time I’ve felt that her expression has really pushed beyond her nerves, and it is brilliant to see her potential finally shine. An absolutely stellar shot, and one of the finest Tahnee produces all season.

4 – Cassi

Cassi is a naturally stunning girl, so it is no surprise she pulled of a gorgeous shot, but it also carries what is a flawed shot above Franky’s, which is pretty much technically perfect. I don’t know why they chose a frame where her lips are so separated it just flat out looks like she is mid-sentence, but I believe there were better shots. Still, this is magnificent. The dreamy vibe, the gleam in her eyes. The top 3 all gave a bit more intensity, but Cassi’s shot really nailed that dream-like state I was hoping for. If her lips were just a little bit more closed, this would probably be top spot for me.

5 – Franky

Now is where the ranking got difficult, the entire top 5 deserve tonnes of praise for producing incredible photographs. I will say while I preferred Franky’s look before the makeover, she looks incredible here, haircut and all. For this shot alone, it works so well. Incredible bone structure, beautiful expression, really a flawless shot. I think I preferred those shots this week that made eye contact with the camera, but that is the only reason Franky is below them. It is easily the best photo she produces in this competition.

6 – Laura M.

Poor Laura, they really did her in with this makeover. It is just such an awkward length, I know NTM loves short, but I do think long hair is just generally more versatile. I think this is a solid downgrade, and just ages her a bit. Still, I really like this photograph. It is the first time I’ve appreciated her face, the soft jawline, the strong lips, the beautifully intense eyes. My only issue is she does look older here, but I really put that down to the styling and makeover. Still a very beautiful shot.
