1 – Lola

So I said I needed a sensational shot to stop me from wanting Lola gone, and I can’t believe she managed to do it, and then actually got sent home after producing it. I am so confused and stunned. I think Lola was the weakest model left, but she produced one of the best shots of the season here. Still not sure if I’d cut her, or one of the ones with actual bad shots. This week is kind a fever dream. This photo though, another kind of dream. It is heavenly, light, Lola looks like a goddess. Easily the best her face has looked, those cheekbones and that jawline. The expression is divine too, I think Tahnee’s was slightly better, but Lola’s is a clear second for that this week. The body though is incontestable in Lola’s favour. Despite her middle being covered in fabric, I can feel her figure underneath, and her legs look insane, down to the perfectly pointed feed. The arm we see is elegant, all the way down to the delicate fingers. She went out on one incredible high.

2 – Tahnee

here were a clear top two shots this week, one got first call-out which I can’t really dispute, and the other was eliminated which I’m still not sure if I can dispute. This shot is vibrant, dreamy, it feels comforting to look at. The pose really stands out this week, its quirky, and I think it has been executed really well. The angle Tahnee chose is enough to be pronounced, but still makes her look tall. Facially it is incredible too, with that slightly curious, intriguing vibe going on. Wish we hadn’t lost her arms, but that is the only critique I can make really. Tahnee may have not started off strong, but I feel she has become the most consistent in the past few weeks.

3 – Cassi

I think this has similar issues to Clare’s shot, in that there is some strength in the body, but the arms and face let it down. Her body really does look good in the dress, she looks tall and from the slight points of her toe I can feel her fully extending. The upper half of the shot though is flawed. The arm is very awkwardly bent, and I’m not fully sure about the beauty shot. It has grown on me a bit, and the more I look at it, the less I dislike it, but there is something stiff and unnatural about it. So much tension in her jawline, even if it is gorgeous. The expression too is bordering on good, she it feels more authentic than those below her, it just needed a bit more strength. Honestly, writing this I’ve convinced myself this is a better shot than I remembered, still not close to the top 2 but I judged this way too harshly in my original rankings.

4 – Adele

I wasn’t mad this was in the bottom 2. It’s a lacklustre photo, and I think the only reason I have it this high is because Adele did virtually nothing, so its naturally pretty. Her features aren’t distorted like Clare, but the expression is dull and lifeless. The body isn’t awkward, but there doesn’t feel like much actively done to enhance the photograph, even the pointing of the toes is kind of half-assed. I think the photo works better than those below it because of the vibrant hair and dress, but it doesn’t display Adele well as a model.

5 – Franky

I mean, hard not to call sabotage in this shoot. Everyone else has billowing light dresses that swirled around them, helping cover tiny issues in their poses, and flowing hair that added an ethereal element, and Franky got her horrid styled short hair and…a sparkly potato sack. What. I think Franky has done okay with what she had, but there are still issues. Her legs look good, but the angle of the photo makes them look oddly differently sized. Her hand that we can see is really gnarled, and we are just missing the other arm entirely. I think the strength of this is in how her face has photographed, the expression is underwhelming, but that bone structure speaks for itself. I think maybe a way to go to this shot was to even throw her head back further, arch her back a bit. I feel like she needed something really extra, since the styling was working against her.

6 – Clare

Really was disappointed with a lot of the shots this week, all were pretty bad with some strong elements. But Clare really is a clear lowest for me. Lets start with the positives. Clare’s body has a nice shape to it, shows the dress well, and I love that pale pink against her skin and hair. Beautiful. The negatives are everything else. The demented expression, the awkward praying gesture with the hands, how round and shapeless her face was photographed. This is a massive drop for Clare, and her first bad shot of the cycle. No way I’d have eliminated her given that portfolio strength, but I’d definitely have slapped her in the bottom 2 to make a point.

1. Lola

I think that Lola absolutely nailed this. The only real problem is that she could’ve controlled the dress a little better (and she did lose an arm), but otherwise this is an excellent shot. Her legs are phenomenal, she did a great job of pointing her toes midair, and I love how elegant her outstretched arm/hand looks. This is also by far the best her face has ever photographed. The serene, hopeful expression in her eyes is right on the money for the brief, and her bone structure is stunning. It’s really cool how we see barely any effort of her jump and she looks like a floating ballerina. Lola’s elimination was predictable, but even though she was one of the weakest girls left I think this shot (and her recent improvement) should’ve been good enough to buy her one more week.

2. Tahnee

My top 2 were neck and neck and far ahead of the rest of the pack. Tahnee excelled on the trampoline and it clearly shows in this picture. Her pose is so dynamic; I love the overall shape she made and her body looks incredible (my only complaint is that she sort of lost her arms in the fabric). I like her joyous expression and upturned eyes, plus her jawline is beautiful. However, her face isn’t quite fully controlled and she also has too much tension in her neck. Overall it’s a strong shot from Tahnee and she was one of the standouts this week!
