Bluetooth headsets
Right. So, a couple years ago [edit: 5 years ago! Holy crap, these headsets don’t owe me anything, do they? Half a decade, that’s not bad] [https://jjnonken.tumblr.com/post/137460867585/it-arrived-today-reasonably-comfortable-sounds] I posted about my new Ausdom M05 bluetooth headset. Here’s an update.
There’s a bit between the earpiece on each side and the headband that connects the two, has wires running through it, and includes a swivel. Due to an accident I broke the one on the left. At the advice of a friend I ordered some UV-cure glue, but in the meantime I ordered another from eBay. I’ve been using it ever since.
Some time ago I was buying magnetic charging cables (not this one [https://www.tekgear.com/third-generation-intelligent-magnetic-usb-cable.html] but similar -- I can’t find the exact ones I’ve been using any more). So it’s a two part cable, a connector (end piece?) and a cable, and you can get multiple options for the connector (e.g. micro-USB and Lightning, for instance). Anyway, the USB charging port on the first headset was missing the rubber cover piece, so I stuck in one of the magnetic connectors to help protect it, and I’ve been charging it using the corresponding cable, and that’s pretty much the only one I still use. The idea is nice, but a) the style I got at the time didn’t come with a USB-C, and b) if I use it in the car it almost invariably picks up schmutz from the floor and I have to keep cleaning the damned things. With a pair of tweezers, because it’s not just dirt, it’s bits of ferrous material.
Eventually I not only glued the broken piece back together but made sure to beef it up with extra glue -- not anything that interferes with its function, but in the empty spaces between the plastic ribs they include as structural bracing. I just filled those up where I could.
It worked. Now I have two M05 headsets. Ever since then I’ve had one at work and one at home, and I used them all the time for, what, two years now? Three? more than five years total.
Last month the one at work broke: same place, other side. This time I didn’t do anything particular to stress it; it’s just getting old, and normal use has taken its toll. Fortunately I had an extra BBFIT headset at hand, so I’ve been using that at work. (And fortunately I use speakers for most of my listening. I usually only use the headset when I’m watching videos during lunch.)
And things were going OK, except now the original one re-broke two nights ago. Same situation: no particular stress, normal wear and tear. If anything, the fact that the repair lasted as long as the other headset is a testament to the quality of the repair -- and if anything, I use the headset at home much more than the one at work.
Again, fortunately I have some extra sports headsets -- in this case I grabbed one of my older S11-HD headsets that was already linked to the laptop, and left the much newer (and more capable) BBFIT 2100 in my backpack.
TL;DR: My M05s are now both broken and I’m looking for a replacement headset. Maybe two.

I find that it has nice audio quality. The battery life is very nice as well. It's comfortable to wear for long periods of time and has nice clear sounds. The sound that these headphones produce is really great with some deep bass. They are very loud on the top end and do no distort at all. The sounds are very clear with no hissing or scratching. I am able to connect with my device without any issues and very easily. So cool!
