Having just dodged away from his BBQ -- albeit briefly -- to grab some straws and some more ice. As he shifted the bag of ice from one hand to the other, and juggled the straws, he smiled. “It is such a beautiful day,” he said with a laugh.
“Didn’t expect everything to be so... loud,” she sighed, hovering at the edge of the festivities, depriving herself of the food despite her protesting stomach. As innocuous as the festivities were, the lack of urgency among the campers-- nope, residents, this was not Camp Half-Blood-- surprised her.
Annabeth was on a mission. But honestly when wasn’t she on a mission? For the moment being her targets were the hotdogs in the refrigerated aisle of the supermarket. Her and Percy’s barbecue had been running low since Jason and him had decided to have a grill master competition, and she had taken it upon herself to get more. Nothing would go wrong for their gathering. But as she saw someone else eyeing the hotdogs, she quickened her pace and called out, “I’m gonna need about ten packs of those hotdogs,” in a rather threatening tone.
“Everyone is gonna try and tell you that the best thing about the 4th of July are the fireworks. But it’s not. It’s all the food.” Scooping up an assortment of goods in her arms, Jolene prepared her feast.
