Aussie Carp Fishos started as a small Facebook Group designed to stop the debate over Catch & Release of Carp in Australia. Although some states in this fine country prohibit the return of Carp to the waters many of us (mostly in those states that do allow the return) release our catches. We fish for sport, for relaxation, for the joy and to get back to nature.
Since we started in December 2016 the group has grown to over 700 members and has started a registered Not For Profit Incorporated Association names Aussie Carp Fishos Social Fishing Club Inc. We have also managed to gain some amazing sponsors and members that help us grow here.
We promote Catch & Release or Utilization. Sadly many people seem to think it's ok to throw carp on the bank of the waterways and leave them to rot. This encourages other pests such as Feral Cats and Foxes I to the area. This is why we promote the utilization of the fish if they are not being returned to the water.
We are also trying to support native fish restocking, river rehabilitation and we are working to remove rubbish from our waterways by making sure we leave the banks litter free even if it does not belong to us.
We often arrange group fishing days and even weekends away camping on the waters edge while wetting a line and sinking a few cold beers.
Thanks to help from our Club sponsors and other event sponsors we are able to do give away events where guests have a chance to win prizes. Events such as our annual Social Day have prizes worth over $300 each and with a free entry and $2.50 Snag Sandwich it's a great day out for everyone.
Aussie Carp Fishos is doing our part to look after our beautiful country and encourage people off the lounge, away from the computer and out onto the banks.
