Text @ Austin
Milo: So. I didn't bring this up the other day because you were melting down. And for all I know you might still be melting down, but I feel like we need to talk about this either way. At some point at least.
Milo: In Michigan. When you were all sobby. I don't know if you remember but. It was weird, you kind of...
Milo: You said you loved me?
Text @ Austin
Milo: Your son is on the verge of tears. You need to tell me what's wrong, Austin. I'm here.
Back to Chapter One || Milo and Austin
Milo slung his backpack over his shoulder and headed to the front window of his house. He looked outside and waited, just waited for Austin to pick him up for their trip. His fist clenched around the wrinkled and slightly ripped photo that he held. He closed his eyes, trying to hold back tears, and then slowly unfolded the picture and looked at it. Jason had died 16 years ago today, and Milo could never let him go. After 16 years Milo had only ever been with one other man, Austin, and even then he regretted it. It had always felt like cheating.
Headlights flashed down the street and into Milo's driveway. He wiped away a few tears from his cheek and pushed through his emotions and also the door. It was time to visit Jason for the 15th time since his death. Milo was ready and yet not ready at the same time, but he knew he had to do it. For Jason. But really for himself.
