Monte is not a happy camper that we cannot go on walks whilst he has the new virulent strain of cough that seems to be ripping through Charlotte! My dog had it as well. Apparently the bordetella vaccine covers six of the 10 upper respiratory infections that dogs can get, and this new cough seems to be evading the vaccine. Folks, if you take your dogs to a doggie daycare or dog park, and you live in the Charlotte area, you need to be aware that this highly contagious strain is going around. Almost every one of my clients dogs has gotten it at one point in these past few months.
