The Multicam top might look like your run-of-the-mill combat top, but it’s actually a very rare pattern of Mutlicam developed for Australian special forces called Australian Multicam Pattern, or AMU for the uniforms. You can see the dark brown and white shapes are different, they’re similar to the jelly bean and rabbit ear shapes that made up the old Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniform (DPCU). Ultimately, AMP stayed limited in numbers and was the basis for the current Australian Multicam Camouflage Uniform (AMCU) rolled out the next year in 2014. AMP is still worn by special units in Australia. I’m still chasing a pair of AMP pants and a barracks shirt.
