Christmas Bells plains on Ocean Road between #portmacquarie and #lakecathie . Photographed in 1990. #christmasbellsplains . These native flowers are only found on the NSW coast between Sydney and Brisbane and were protected for many years so they were illegal to pick. They flower in December to February, hence the name. They need fire to regenerate but were greatly wiped out but the 2019 bushfires.
