Wtf is going on with Australia’s States

I have said this to many people but Australia has the dumbest state names. And I’m saying this from the perspective of an Australian, not some random European or what ever. I have first hand experience. We have six states and of those six, besides Tasmania, we have the simplest names. For example, I live in Queensland. We were colonised by Britain. The only way we were allowed to become a state was if we called ourselves Queensland. WE ARE LITERALLY THE QUEENS LAND. New South Wales. It’s New. It’s South. And there’s a place in the UK called Wales so why the fuck not. Not only do we have a state that is literally the queens land, we have a state NAMED AFTER THE QUEEN. Victoria. AND THE OTHER TWO ARE JUST COORDINATES. South Australia and Western Australia..... HENCE FORTH I PROCLAIM AUSTRALIA TO BE THE MOST ORIGINAL COUNTRY OF THEM ALL. I VOTE WE RENAME QUEENSLAND BOGANTOPIA!
