Marinus van Reymerswale (Dutch, 1489-1546) The Virgin Nursing the Child, circa 1530 Madrid, Prado (oil on panel, 610 x 460 mm)
Albrecht Dürer Madonna with Child, 1512 Vienna, Albertina (charcoal, 418 x 288 mm)
Workshop of Albrecht Dürer The Madonna with the Iris, about 1500-1510 London, The National Gallery (oil on lime, 1492 x 1172 mm)
"The painting bears the monogram of Albrecht Dürer together with the date of 1511 [...] Since Marinus used Dürer’s models as a source of inspiration for his own work, it is likely that the false monogram was added already in the sixteenth century, maybe even by the painter himself."
