Summary: After plenty of failed relationships, Katniss Everdeen decides to give in and audition for a show that sets you up with the perfect date. Eventually, she’s paired with Peeta Mellark, a well known author and a single parent. The two click instantly, but is it meant to be?
Katniss Everdeen didn’t have a stable love life, she had more relationships than you could count but they all didn’t last long. She constantly thought it was miscommunication or a mistake on her end, but the various boyfriends she had always seemed to be the problem instead. She had to admit, her taste in men was atrocious - sure, they seemed all sweet in the beginning but eventually the true colors came out. Her best friends, Johanna and Annie, noticed that. Even Katniss’ younger sister, Primrose, tried to redirect her to people she knew who were way better than those lousy exes. To be honest, the women would warn her, but of course, stubborn Katniss doesn’t listen.
It has been a year, and her mother has been pestering her about the ‘right one ’ and that she should be married by now. Katniss was twenty five, marriage is the last thing on her mind; her mother’s generation and beliefs are completely different than hers. Her focus had been shifted to her career anyways. She was a painter, often selling her artwork at festivals or flea markets - some of them managed to go into art galleries. Decent amount of money was earned, but it wasn't enough so she works part time as a waitress at a cafe. Marriage wasn’t even a thought to her in the future, if she were to be honest. Right now, she feels miserable or as if she’s doing something wrong because who the hell is twenty five and cannot maintain a relationship! Her hope in love was dwindling, it was probably for the best even if she didn’t want it to be.
Throughout a few months, Johanna and Annie suggested dating apps. Katniss gave in, letting her best friends help set up a profile. They chose the photos and made the bio for her. A few men were nice, but didn’t seem to have a connection with them. However, the rest were either creeps or just looking for hookups. She had enough, deciding to delete them all.
Yeah, maybe her love life was doomed…
