blog decoration stamps for my autistic weirdos
One interesting thing that I've noticed about Sonic's planet being referred as "Mobius" in several incarnations, is that the infinite symbol often used in autistic/neurodivergent topics and conversations is called a MOBIUS strip (Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity has a stage named Mobius Strip, too!)
Anyways, what I'm trying to say here, is that Sonic is autistic, and was totally made for autistic people. You can't change my mind.
ive wanted to say this for years but ive always been too scared dfghjk thank you for being brave enough to speak the truth!! this is our town baby!!
neurodivergence aside, if Sonic Team ever decided to give Game!Sonic's world a name other than Earth, i wouldn't blame them for choosing something new to avoid it getting conflated with other canons. that being said, at this point i honestly can't think of a better name for a world full of natural corkscrews, gems of infinite power, and a guy who runs like this
me: can i talk to u about my special interest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! person: yeah!! me: ……………………….. ive never gotten this far before,
i still feel sudden pangs of embarrassment about liking sonic sometimes, but whenever someone else says they feel the same im refueled by the desire to strangle cringe culture with my own two hands
stimstimstim
while im still empowered by the sonic movie’s success theres something important i wanna say:
cringe culture is annoying at best and a socially acceptable form of bullying at worst. it’s literally just another name for making fun of people who like things “too much,” aka kids and autistic/ADHD people, and im absolutely sick of it. we all like to say that cringe culture is dead, but the truth is it’s alive and it won’t die until more people see it for what it is.
if you think me mentioning sonic here makes no sense, im sorry to say that you dont understand how pervasive this issue truly is, and i dont have the time or words to convey it in full. for now, just know that im autistic, i really like sonic, ive been bullied and made fun of for both, and im far from the only one.
if anyone spots a Happy Feet cameo in the space jam trailer please hmu, that would be the best autism acceptance month gift ever
mysterious stim toy shop pops up in random places around town. proprietor is friendly but hisses when exposed to iron. 10/10 would recommend.
