I hate posts of this genre so much. God forbid your DISABILITY actually DISABLES YOU???

If you genuinely think like this, you need to unpack why you think being an autistic person who can easily mask makes you so much better than autistic people whose autism DOES make them “weird”.

For fucks sake. Stop treating autism like it’s just a fun silly quirk that makes you better than everyone else (including MSN/HSN autistic people, who some of y’all basically treat like we’re a different species) instead of acknowledging that it’s a fucking developmental disorder. I’m not saying you can’t be proud of your autism, but trying to separate yourself from people who are more obviously disabled than you just makes you look like an ableist piece of shit. If autism is somehow not what you’d consider a disability for you, okay I guess, but you need to acknowledge that it IS a disability for MOST of us.

I’m so so tired of LSN autistics acting eager to put down and judge every autistic person who struggles more than they do. When these types of people say shit like “the world would be better if it were run by autistic people” they’re never talking about people like me and it shows. A lot of y’all only support or care about other autistic people if they have LSN like you do and it shows. Do better.

Okay but honestly.

¿Why am I, the autistic, “gullible and naïve and stupid” for not expecting other people to lie? ¿How is my “blind” trust the problem?

I don't lie (unless forced to for my safety by allistic people). I like being authentic. ¿How am I the Bad Outcast™?

¿Why aren't allistic people (non-autistics) called dishonest, rude, malicious, cruel, &/or manipulative for openly lying to someone just because they know they're likely to believe anything they're told? (especially for things like ‘I love you’/‘you belong’ that everyone needs to hear - emotional needs are dismissed because Everybody Lies.)

¿Is it just because we live in a late stage capitalist society that embraces & celebrates “neurotypicals” who do this, & ostracises anyone who can't easily conform and hide?

¿Or is there something more to it?

The verizon Einstein ad has me so wildly uncomfortable for like 12 reasons.

First off using Einstein to sell phone plans at all is unpleasant. But the way they characterize him is just chock full of ableist red flags, as I'm confidently assuming the writers were going with the theory that Einstein was autistic. (Which is its own separate conversation)

Second (third?) I know Einstein was Jewish but I'm not sure if kaput is actually Yiddish. That coupled with the fact that Fake Einstein was "being cheap" with his old plan feels rather antisemitic caricature. And then also infantilizing on top of that with the whole bike thing and excitement over a good deal. Gross. No.

Idk I really hate this add, tell me if I'm being irrational or not.

Every time I remember the fact that people automatically hate me & don't want to be around me entirely because I'm Autistic, I just want to scream and break everything I own. It never gets easier actually.
