God is an Anunnaki who has been assigned Gaia (Earth) as her personal protectorate after it was confiscated from Enlil. It's her responsibility to protect and defend humanity- none of the other Anunnaki wanted the job, not even Grandma Ki. This is how she appears when she isn't fused with her technorganic raiment. God is not her real name, but rather the title given to any Anunnaki who's assigned to be Lord and Protector over Earth.

Humanity is completely unaware that God is actually a woman. She is one of the last Anunnaki women to still be alive after Enlil murdered most of them thousands of years ago during the Great Flood.
