Not going to lie, the best support weapon for me in Helldivers 2 is the Autocannon.
I’ve tried the railgun, fucking hated it. Grenade launcher is essentially a shittier autocannon (shorter range with less spare ammo). The stalwart is okay, but is shit at armour penetration. Heavy mg (I tried it yesterday) is unwieldy and honestly more of a pain than it’s worth.
The autocannon, however, is effective against most enemies, it has decently long range, and can even take out nests/factories in one shot. It also can be topped off rather after you use half the rounds, rather than having to wait to use the rest of your clip/mag/belt.
