Something just occurred to me, and I’ll probably have to think on it more, but I’ve been considering how I imagine a live-action Augustin in my head. The recent thought is that how I’ve been imagining him isn’t that far from Stephen Fry in his early 30s. Again, I’ll have to look at them side-by-side more to really consider it, but yeah, it’s just something I’ve been thinking about.

I say “Wowzers” all the time thanks to Augustin and I think that’s very cool of me and also I imagine me saying it in passing near him and he gets all flustered just from the realization that I picked it up from him. Just like, “Oh hey, I say that!” and then just blue-screening (possibly literally) as he realized that I say it BECAUSE of him.

In other news I was checking and found out Gadget’s given name in French press materials was “Augustin Tamare” and as someone who has always been extremely offput by the live action films, having an alternative to John Brown is a massive relief.

Hi everyone!! I know I don’t post to this blog a lot, and when I do, it’s usually just sort of adding a new F/O to the list, but, well- I’m doing it again. It’s kinda odd, but isn’t self-shipping always a little odd? I’m just having a lot of fun with it. Right now my newest F/O is Inspector Gadget, the original 80’s TV version of him. I’ve been hyper-fixating on the show in general, staying up really late to watch episodes and researching trivia and production history about the show. (Due to some interesting details in production, my friends and I like to joke that it’s an anime) I’ve even noticed a remarkable continuity to his gadgets, particularly the ones in his hands and which finger on each hand does what. I’ve been cataloging it!

It probably seems to anyone who sees this blog without context that I just pick up and drop F/O’s, never really interacting with the old ones again, but I do! I just don’t post about it a lot on here. The truth it, I don’t have a lot of friends in the self-ship community right now, and I’m kinda fine with that! I think I’d get really overwhelmed with other people’s F/Os that I don’t know anything about, and so I’d feel like a bad friend if I have to dip when they’re gushing, you know? Still, I do like the community as a whole, you all are pretty cool people.
