I can never stop laughing at these extra-large Auton heads from the BBV films
Synopsis: Dr. Sally Arnold has been informed of the events that took place on Sentinel Island. However, she is now learning from her colleague Ross Palmer that computers are failing on a global scale, and something has happened to the entire population of Millhampton, a small English village. Furthermore, Lockwood and the psychic woman Natasha have vanished. She joins him to investigate.
Sergeant Ramsay and his team had been dispatched to Millhampton to help, but all but Ramsay are killed when they find that the town has been overrun with Autons. Arnold, Palmer and Ramsay are all eventually captured by the Autons, and taken to the village's psychiatric hospital.
Inside, to their surprise, they find Graham Winslet, the man who originally found the Autons in storage. He is suffering from a mental breakdown. Soon after, the Autons lead the group into another room, where they see that Lockwood is sitting on a stretcher in a delusional state.
The truth is revealed that Lockwood has a computer chip in his brain, placed there by UNIT scientists. The Nestene consciousness has now captured him, using its control over Natasha to aid them, and now plan to use the chip to spread their control to every electronic device on the planet.
Windlet wanders in just as the process begins, providing a small distraction, but it is enough. Palmer tosses his watch, another UNIT construction, over to Lockwood and instructs him to press one of the buttons three times. Lockwood, who is still delusional and thinks he is in a dream, complies. The button is pressed, and an electric shock kills him on the spot.
As the Nestene consciousness was in the process of using him as a conduit, his sudden death disrupts everything and causes it to disspate. All of the Autons collapse and become nonfunctional, and it seems the threat is finally over. However, Arnold is furious with Palmer for everything, angry that Lockwood's life had to be taken.
Thoughts: BOOOOOOO-RING!!
Wow, what a slog. This might have been one of the worst Doctor Who-related things we have seen. Dull, lifeless, slow and just plain boring. I swear, if I was given one dollar for every second of complete silence in this film, I would have a small fortune by the end. As you can see by the short synopsis above, barely anything happened in this hour-long nonsense.
Not to mention, this was really confusing. Even though it was so lifeless and simple, we still had no idea what the hell was going on. Nothing anyone said made any sense. There are still some events that took place, where we have no idea why they happened or what they contributed to the story.
Eventually, the film just ends and we just shared a blank look. We had nothing to say. There wasn't a single moment of enjoyment to be gotten from this film, and that's a shame. The last two films were not all that bad, but this one has the whole series just end on an awful point.
