how dare he. how DARE he. that impudent, smirking son of a BITCH. everything about him seemed so smug as he’d spoken with such certainty about the mysterious kira, a kira who didn’t seem to be a mystery to him at all--even his HAIR seemed smug, for god’s sake…!

kyosuke didn’t want to think he’d been that painfully obvious as kira. a nouveau riche, never quite sure about his intelligence, wanting to surround himself with merit--reiji might as well have called him out by name. if the rest of the table didn’t catch on already, they’d know when reiji talked more. he had to stop this, and he had to stop it immediately.

     When all is said and done, Kira would need a financial backing of sorts to devote his full time to punishing the wicked, and what better way to find his ‘in’ than a man already aware of the full extent of his power? To rely on L’s standing and finances for much longer than the game needed to drag on was foolish. No, not just foolish. It was downright moronic. Those at the Yotsuba’s secret meetings were more than successful enough, had no particular need to be threatened in order to cooperate, and stood to lose nothing, not even their lives provided they obeyed his every command.

     It was with this in mind that he, after several prolonged months of freedom on their end, picked up a disposable cellphone and wired it through a home made anti-tracking device which sends the cell’s signal through several different locations before it finally reaches its destination in order to contact the only man smart enough to realize the potential and risks of the merger. At which point, when Light was certain of the success rate of each pass over tower pinged, he sent the text.

     'This is Kira. Its unfortunate that your co-worker was arrested, and the company surely suffered a heavy blow in the eyes of the public, but how would you like to discuss an even more lucrative offer?'

Am I right in assuming there’s been an emergency at the corporation, then?” Namikawa may call him more often than others (and it isn’t often at all, Mikami just doesn’t talk to people), but it’s not usually past 11pm. That doesn’t feel like a private call - or at the very least, not like one that is entirely private.

💯 What is my muse’s ideal date?

Mikami’s ideal date is anything quiet. He doesn’t want to stay inside, but he dislikes all noisy date stops so they’d have to go somewhere quiet. It’d be presumably a bookstore date or something similarly nerdy. He could also enjoy a walk in a park with a good conversation, provided the park was fairly empty.Afterwards, either a visit to a café or a restaurant dinner would be called for.

The ideal date doesn’t include any overt romantic gestures, it’s just a non-obtrusive being together with intellectual exchange. If we’re daring it includes hand-brushing and goodbye kisses. (Assuming the date is with someone fairly new and not a long-term partner, anyway. Long-term partner is just harder to say because it depends on the person he is with.)

That said, Mikami’s ideal date maaaayyyy not actually be the kind of date he would enjoy the most in practice. Sometimes he actually can have the better and more memorable time if he’s being dragged out of his shell. This just requires him to truly trust his date partner (and it works better in verses where he is younger). Quiet dates are just the safest bet.
