There probably would be a big difference because most decepticons transform into things that can fly, or like. Objects. So when taking in a deception u gotta make sure to have some sort of aviary for them to fly around in. On the contrary, autobots need a track of some kind to race around in
I agree with the person in the tags who said that an autobot is more inclined to resource guard, but decepticons are prone to this behavior as well and are more likely to antagonize someone else for resources, while autobots are more likely to just guard what they already have
Decepticons are also prone to infighting, they desire a pack based living situation but will rarely concede the leadership role to another. They want to be the leader and protector and will often challenge the current leader for their place, no matter who is leading. Autobots are much more content not being the leader. As long as someone is the protector, they will rarely try and take over
It's impossible for decepticons to not fight with one another, but making sure that they are well fed and comfortable will lessen the severity of the battles into more friendly sparring or play fighting. Autobots also need ample space to play with each other since they are so social
In conclusion, autobots are calmer, friendlier, and more skittish than their decepticon brethren. Decepticons are harder to care for because of their aggressive nature but it is very fulfilling to earn their trust.
I mean youre KINDA right in some parts. I dont know about other bots n 'cons but my guys cant transform. Their t-cogs are just stuffing. Better for me,since I dont know scrap about cars or trucks or planes but I know all about looking after little guys. So im saved there, no need for a seeker coup or mini race track.
I've mentioned before post war cybertronians in general are prone to resource hoarding but there's plenty for everyone in the nest so I dont see this being a long term issue. You, as their caretaker/ host family just need to be aware and ready to step in.
Im really not sure about the in fighting and antagonising though. I think its a common misconception : plushcons are no more prone to this behaviour than autobots( but I cant speak for their full cybertronian forms...)
If they ARE doing it, activly trying to offline one another, id suggest thats a stress behaviour. A happy healthy plushcon is content to mind their own business 99% of the time. They just have strong personalities, which id say are not for beginner cybetronian caretakers. They can also be slightly more territorial, not fond of strangers to your nest but they can usually be bribed out of that with treats.
Sure, they rub each other's plushmetal up the wrong way some times, but its mostly peaceful here save the odd argument about something petty. The plushcons know I dont tolerate that kind of behaviour: you wana squabble? Then you can sleep outside with the other animals.
Failing that, a stint in the timeout sack is usually enough to correct their behaviour.
That being said, some of them are just afts. That's an individual issue though, not because of their faction. Early socialisation when they get to your nest is crucial for setting behavioural expectations.
I do agree with the play fighting though but thats just enrichment for them. Rolling around on the floor bapping eachother with little cotton hands ,is their pumpkin full of burger meat and its not like they can REALLY hurt eachother. They dont have servos after all.
Fun story, when I found shockwave hiding in a gap under my wardrobe he shot me in the face with his blaster. But all that came out was fuzzy craft pompoms. He was so shocked and disgusted with this revelation he forgot to be angry with me. I gave him some enegon and he warmed right up.
I think you might be unfairly taring all plushcons with the same brush here nonny. So here's some things IVE observed about caring for plushcons, and something I've gleaned from observing autoplushies before sending them to their adoptive families
Seekers are not for beginners or the faint of heart. They get in to everything. And they work together very well for the purpose of mischief.
If you are getting a seeker, you need to be prepared to take their trinemates too. Its really not fair on them to separate a trine, it can lead to a lot of negative stress behaviour.
If you find a lone seeker in the wild like I did, dont be surprised if their trine winds up on your doorstep looking to nest share. I cant confirm this scientifically, but im sure they have some sort of trine tracking feature
There's pros and cons to both types of cybertronians. Autoplushies seem beginner friendly because they aren't as demanding and are used to going without . But you absolutely cannot get a single autoplush, you have to get them a friend or they'll get lonely and stressed.
If you get an amaica/amour or conjunx endura pair, be prepared for others to show up. All cybertronians are social creatures: if they find a nest they like the others WILL hear about it.
Conversely, plushcons are just as social but they often do better than autoplushies on their own if you have a small nest and just want the one. The scientist or spy ones especially are very low maintenance.
Warframes, gladiators and combiners are hit and miss. Some are basically lap pets, they dont wana run around if they dont have to. Some will go absolutely bananas if you dont exercise or enrich them enough.
Regardless of personality, you need to watch their energon intake more than the others. Theyre used to consuming a lot because a of activity is expected of them, but if theyre just chilling on your sofa most days they dont need all that. The other kind has a habit of running their tank down and burning out . Make sure their intake matches their output is what im getting at.
You should let them engage in natural "negative" behaviours. Some might want to hunt you for sport, some might want to experiment on you, its fine, they really cant do any serious damage at this size. If you dont won't or cant manage this then they'll do other destructive things.
All cybertronians are food motivated. A pocket full of treats will make you the most popular squishy in the world.
In conclusion, I dont think plushcons are any more difficult than autoplushies to take care of. They just have different needs. You as a responsible care taker need to be prepared. If youre finding them difficult then maybe its not the right fit, you should probably contact the CBIC and either get some training or find them a more suitable home.
