Have fun! I hope the writing bug is still with you when you eventually get a chance to sit down and do it.

I’m currently doing round two of wondering what to focus on first (which has always been a bit of a tiny problem), but the break really was a needed one. It was great to get in some sun, and to get a chance to watch the jellyfish bob around. The crowds not so much, but it couldn’t be helped. It’s summer and everyone had the same idea. DX

Thank you both for the well-wishes too! There’s just enough of the writing bug present for me to dig into the current idea I’m tackling, so I’m pretty pleased about that, but I suspect the real meat of it won’t get written until later today. ...I might be leaning into the magic hour of the night a little too much, but the best stuff does seem to pop up then.

That was my initial thought! But then are chocolate chip cookies really any worse than donuts? And those are a perfectly standard breakfast option

Seven - oatmeal is a legit breakfast food and cookies are just a more portable format.

This seems like a solid 7 to me. Because yeah, you’re eating cookies, but:

a) they’re pretty much the healthiest kind of cookie

b) basically no child is going to be reaching for oatmeal raisin cookies no matter what time of day it is

c) this is a portable bowl of oatmeal, which is a totally adult kind of breakfast

d) if you made the cookies yourself, that’s at least a couple of adulting points right there for safe (-ish) and successful (-ish) use of assorted semi-dangerous kitchen stuff

I did not make the cookies myself, whoops. (I did roast veggies for dinner yesterday though, so that felt like Very Successful Adulting. *laughs*)

Funny, I was just checking out that game wondering if it was worth picking up.

oh, it absolutely is! i’m enjoying both the story and the gameplay, just an all around excellent rpg 

also despite having a click-to-move thing the game is VERY generous about the environment interaction (you can pick up everything that’s not nailed down pretty much), and there are plenty of skills that feel like cheating but are just part of the game (teleportation and flight being the two bIG ones lmao) 

oh im gonna put a lil spoiler in here that can prove very useful about deciding your party but skip if u want to go in blind:

when finishing the first area (fort joy) the companions you have currently with you will be the ones you end up with - the other 3 die during a ship battle that happens afterwards

its strange, but also works as a weird replayability plot device? anyway just be sure to switch up to the ones you like before leaving

:D All 12 of my chickens are named after characters/NPCs/familiars in the Pathfinder campaign I’m part of, because honestly @bam-monsterhospital, Zan should be honoured to have a chicken named after her.

Same here! If I want to make sure that, for example, Meryl and her gang have enough time to develop certain plotlines between 3 and 4, I can just tweak the dates to my liking instead of being beholden to an inflexible deadline.

Yeah, everything you guys said basically sums up exactly what went through my head.

After a year? What is she even thinking? While I might wonder, a part of me is just like. Screw all of that mess. Not even bothering.
