I survived critiqe btw!! And tgen i ate good food and slept for 15 hours. Had a dream about having to give a toddler but also myself a haircut and was bad at it
Heres my final. Its a reinterpretation of an Egon Schiele painting, one of the modernist(?) figure painters whose work my prof has shown us examples of in class. I didnt get the tom of finland redraws into it at all, but im kinda glad i didnt put too much of of what i wanted to express into it bwcause my professor told me the reason why Egon Scheiele paintings are all “so horny its disturbing” (my words. Out loud during critique in front of my professor but i dont even regret it, fuck it)— the reason why they feel offputting it because, if Egon Scheile was alive today, hed be in jail. (I dont remember any more than that because i was tired, but it seems he was some kind of abuser. Which very much reflects in his style and unfortunately that off-putting expression of sexuality in his work was what appealed to me about it.)
Heres the original btw. I kinda squished in in my version by accident bc i resized the reference image i was using in photoshop and didnt keep the proportions right but idc
Its called kneeling girl on both elbows or something i dont remember
