@avaloness | FRAGMENTATION II - SILENT GUARDIANS
☩ | Shadows grew as the sun began setting, orange transitioning to pink, purple and blue over the course of minutes. Wraiths beneath screeched as if to welcome to night in which they reigned supreme. But the messengers of death were not the only ones that called the dark of the night their home. Standing at the edge of a roof, the Dragon overlooked their massacres.
His coat fluttered in the cold winds, reds gleamed as the darkness set in. Next to him, a deceptively normal statue came to life. The moment he noticed her while travelling the city’s higher places he decided to wait for the twilight in case a stray wraith made its way up here. Luckily all had been busy with other groups fighting below during her stonesleep and the wait had been a silent one without disturbances. Now he turned back to face his old acquaintance.
“LONG TIME NO SEE ANGELA. YOU PICKED A GOOD SPOT BUT I WOULDN’T STAY HERE. CAN YOU FIGHT WITH A WEAPON? OR MAGIC?”
The reason why still lurked beneath- the wraiths were approaching, disintegrating the buildings in their wake. The groups that held them back retreated due to nightfall.
