HOW LONG HAD IT BEEN ?? days, weeks, months ?? she didn't know, for it was difficult to keep track of TIME when life had been so utterly INTERRUPTED. torn apart at the seems, torn to shreds in a matter of months. the dark lord had returned, that much she'd KNOWN && perhaps she'd been FOOLISH to believe that events wouldn't have spiraled as they had done. her sister dropped 'pon her doorstep after her ESCAPE from azkaban, her husband rotting away in a cell && her son in ever INCREASING danger every day. her existence had become a FIGHT to keep him safe, to keep him away from the mistakes of the PAST. however, she feared that she was FIGHTING A LOSING BATTLE, but that wouldn't stop her from doing everything in her power to protect him, for DEATH would be the only reason she stopped.
&& it was deep in her thoughts that she was LOST -- fire long since burned itself out -- tea COLD 'pon the table that sat before her && a book that lay unopened resting atop her lap. for sleep had evaded her once more, it was something in which had ALWAYS slipped her grasped, but it seemed ever present as of late. && footfalls were heard before they entered the room, however, gaze remained UNWAVERING as it remained 'pon the unlit fireplace before her, merely awaiting whatever it happened to be that her sister deemed it IMPORTANT enough to tell her. // @avantgcrde / for bellatrix
