Can I offer some Korrasami in these trying times?
It's Korrasami month and updated this, my longest running fic and I hope to get another chapter before the close of the year.
Book 2: At the Threshold of Oblivion
Chapter Summary: Following the spirit attack, Asami decides to take Unalaq up on his offer and travels to the heart of the South Pole to begin her spiritual journey.
I was seeing all these cool posts for Aang Rarepair Week and, while I don't have the time to really lean into this one, this short idea popped into my head for today's prompt, Comfort. @aangtheestallion

Aang/Asami Sato
Asami Sato awoke with a snap. Two bright gray eyes stared down at her out of a round, smiling face.
“Hi!” the boy chirped.
Asami scrambled backwards into her headboard. There was a boy, there was a little bald boy with a blue stripe on his head sitting on her bed, inside her house, and he was probably here to murder her or kidnap her or something. She opened her mouth to scream for her mother but he lunged forward, slapping his hand across her mouth.
“No! No! No!” he whispered. He looked just as frightened as she felt. “Don’t scream, okay? I’m friendly, I promise, I just need to talk to you!”
Asami wriggled, then kicked him under the blankets. He skidded backwards off the bed with a whoosh of breath… except it wasn’t breath? Instead, the boy hovered there, his hands clasped to his thin chest, suspended above the carpet on a bubble of air. Asami simply stared at him, too shocked now to call for help. Was he… was he airbending? But that made no sense, there was only one airbender in the whole world, and he was old, at least thirty.
“Now will you talk to me?”
Asami nodded dumbly, too stunned to speak. It was only now that she saw the blue stripe on the boy’s shaved head was a tattooed arrow. But if so, who was he, and why was he in her bedroom in the middle of the night?
“Are you here to kidnap me?” she asked.
The boy blinked, confused. “No?”
“Then why are you here?”
He scratched his head. “Um, well, I need to tell you something. I’m Avatar Aang.”
Asami frowned. “No you’re not. Avatar Aang died the year I was born, and anyways he was way old.”
“Well, I’m the spirit of Avatar Aang,” he said. “I thought I wouldn’t scare you as much if I looked like I did as a kid, but I guess I was wrong.” He looked a little sheepish. “Sorry.”
“But why are you in my room?”
“Well,” Aang said, “I wanted to tell you that you’re the Avatar.”
Asami reached down and pinched herself. Hard. “Ow!”
Aang quirked an eyebrow. “You’re not dreaming, I promise.”
“But I can’t be the Avatar.” Every first grader knew about the Avatar. “Avatars are benders, and the next one is from the Water Tribe. We’re just waiting to see who they are.”
The boy scratched his head again. “So, about that. The Avatar cycle was based on there being four elements and four nations. But with the creation of the United Republic, there’s a fifth nation now. And things are changing. The spirits got together when I passed and decided we needed to change with it. We’ve added the United Republic to the cycle, and there’s now no rule that the Avatar has to start out a bender. Benders don’t even come into their powers until about your age. So it can really be anyone. Like you. Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to bend all the elements. But since this is the first time we’re trying this I wanted to come and explain things to you. So you weren’t scared and stuff.”
Asami looked at him long and hard. “You’re saying I can bend anything. Anything at all.”
Aang perked up at her understanding. “Yeah! You’ll need some training up so you don’t set things on fire and stuff. The White Lotus knows where to find you, and will talk to your parents, too. So just… be careful, okay? At first?”
She nodded. “Okay.”
His face turned more serious. “It’s a big responsibility, Asami. And it won’t always be fun. But I’ve been watching you the last couple of years, and I think you’re gonna be great.”

Chapter 14: Book 2: Cold Reception
The group arrives in the Southern Water Tribe and while Asami ponders the feelings of foreboding she's been experiencing, Korra mulls over her past and tries to secure her future at Future Industries.

The last time I updated this story was almost a year ago and I promise it is not my intention to update this story once a year but it just turned out that way as I'm currently juggling three different stories at once. Since one story is almost near completion that will allow more time to work on this one. I knew I had to have this chapter done for Korrasami Day :)
I do apologize again for the long wait and I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 13: Book 2: Storm on the Horizon
Artwork by @jadequarze
After an unintentional and absurd hiatus of two years, I have finally one of my longer running fics. Finally with Book 1 done it now is time to tackle Book 2.
Months have passed since the failed Equalist uprising. Team Avatar have been largely apart from one another, each trying to return to some form of normality and stability. Asami works to regain her bending abilities, Korra buries herself in work while Future Industries stagnates, Mako pursues a new career while Bolin tries to recapture old glory.
When Korra is sent home to Southern Water Tribe to broker a business deal with an eccentric millionaire, Asami and the rest of the gang decide to tag along. But Asami begins to have visions of something sinister on the horizon.
Deepest apologies for the long wait. Hopefully this chapter makes up for it and what better way than to post it on the anniversary of LOK’s finale.
As always comments and reblogs are kindly appreciated. Special thanks again to JadeQuarze for the fantastic artwork.
Well after a year’s delay here it is, the next chapters in my Korrasami role switch AU that’s been going on for nearly four years but has suffered delays due to work, writer’s block, moving, more work and above all procrastination.
I’m particularly glad to get this chapters out as it means I am finally done with the Book 1 plot line and I don’t have to write about Equalists or Amon ever again.
Special thanks to @willoghby / @pichikui for the fantastic artwork. When I originally commissioned it I thought ‘Oh I’ll have this chapter done and out in a week or two.’ Didn’t turn out that way.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy and I apologize again for the delay
