         (    ↻    )    it’d  been  a  month  since  kareem  said  i  love  you  .  and  theo  couldn’t  say  it  back  .  correction:  she  froze  .  since  then  ,  her  mind  has  been  running  on  overdrive  .  it’s  not  the  first  time  she’s  heard  those  words  spoken  to  her  before  but  it’s  different  this  time  .  there  was  something  so  raw  ,  so  visceral  when  they  said  it  .  like  it  was  a  promise  that  they  will  always  be  there  for  her  .  it  scares  her  but  what  scares  her  even  more  was  how  much  she  liked  hearing  him  say  it  .  she  started  analyzing  her  feelings  for  him  .  and  she’s  come  to  the  conclusion  that  perhaps  kareem  is  the  person  for  her  .  she’s  never  really  had  strong  romantic  feelings  for  a  person  until  now  .  but  she  still  hasn’t  said  it  to  him  yet  .  not  until  she  tells  him  the  truth  .  the  comfortable  silence  that  usually  sits  between  the  two  is  blanketed  by  subtle  tension  .  as  dinner  concludes  and  the  two  are  now  situated  in  her  living  room  ,  theo  pours  herself  another  glass  of  bourbon  before  deciding  to  break  the  silence  .  “  can  i  talk  to  you  about  somethin’  ?  ”

         (    ↻    )    valeria  gives  the  door  three  succinct  knocks  and  waits  for  kareem’s  response  before  entering  the  witch’s  office  .  “  hope  you  don’t  mind  me  stopping  by  ,  ”  they  start  ,  and  present  a  bag  of  takeout  from  ed’s  easy  diner  .  “  i  wanted  to  check  in  and  see  how  you  were  doing  .  a  lot’s  happened  .  ”  a  severe  understatement  ,  but  there  doesn’t  seem  to  be  enough  to  describe  just  what  this  town  went  through  .  “  i  figured  we  could  eat  too  .  and  if  you  feel  like  unloading  your  problems  ,  i  am  here  to  lend  an  ear  .  ”

          (    ↻    )    hera  makes  her  way  over  from  the  kitchen  to  the  living  room  and  sets  down  an  intricate  tea  set  tray  that  she  normally  reserves  for  aeri  .  “  it’s  been  a  while  since  you’ve  been  here  ,  ”  the  vampire  admits  .  nimble  fingers  grasp  at  the  handle  of  the  teapot  ,  firmly  pouring  tea  into  each  cup  .  once  done  ,  she  gestures  for  the  young  medium  to  help  herself  .  “  how  have  things  been  ?  doing  any  investigative  articles  on  the  council  ?  i  must  admit  ,  i’ve  been  far  busier  than  usual  .  planning  to  confront  the  council  is  a  lot  more  time  consuming  that  i  anticipated  .  ”

         fortunately  for  hera  ,  she  was  out  of  town  when  the  events  of  new  year’s  day  had  transpired  .  however  ,  word  spreads  fast  so  it  eventually  made  its  way  over  to  the  vampire  while  she  was  in  hong  kong  .  so  she  made  an  effort  to  check  in  with  all  her  friends  and  loved  ones  that  were  residing  in  portum  .  and  she  was  relieved  to  find  out  that  was  aeri  okay  .

heeled  boots  click  against  the  tiled  floors  of  the  lobby  as  she  ventures  deeper  into  the  portum  times  and  finally  finds  the  area  where  the  journalists  are  located  .  eyes  are  quick  to  spot  the  young  oracle  before  she’s  making  her  way  over  .  “  i  hope  i’m  not  too  early  .  ”  she  smiles  warmly  at  aeri  .  “  i  know  we  have  lunch  plans  but  i  figured  we  could  take  a  walk  .  the  weather’s  surprisingly  decent  today  .  ”
