"It is vaguely reassuring to know that Tony Stark isn't good at everything."
@avengingplayboy liked for a short sentence starter
“What is it about me....” Leonard grunts, his hands and eyes intent on the readings from the knitter in his palm. Healing tiny carpal bones in the wrist is fiddly work, the kind which requires a semblance of finesse. He starts again, “...what is it about me that attracts self-destructive idiots, hmm?”
Adjusting a setting, the doctor continues his treatment on Tony’s wrist, scowling at evidence that suggests the other man had waited to come to him with this injury. He shoots the genius a withering look, “....especially when said idiots seem hell-bent to ignore my good advice?”

It had been an ordinary day. Her day off, in fact. A little bit of half-hearted cleaning, a zumba class after lunch, and she was just finished watching one of her daytime TV programmes when a knock came to her door. No one usually came around at this time of day, so she was wearing a quizzical look when she opened the door, and when her eyes settled on her visitor, her face dropped.
“Uh. Hi?” she said, looking baffled. “Are you-, can I-, can I help?”

“surprise...did you miss me?”

★— TONY AND KITCHENS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A TERRIBLE COMBINATION. Despite his genius --- particularly in engineering, it seemed as though the tinkerer in him was utterly relentless, which in this case wasn’t a good attribute to have. All Steve had asked was for Tony to help fix the blender so he could continue cooking --- or at least, trying to. That was until things went WILD.
Now with the engineer coated in batter, Steve stood there with his hand held to his mouth, not in shock but to prevent himself from laughing further, or at least audibly. There was a small shake of his shoulders that was enough of a giveaway, though.
❛ Didn’t I tell you to stop? ❜
He stepped over, flicking a bit of batter out of Tony’s dark locks and shaking his head.
❛ Should’ve just mixed it by hand, but I HAD to listen to you when you said you’d fix this thing... Yeah, sometimes faster isn’t always better. ❜
Exhilarate
“I don’t need a suit, Tony.”
Too many problems for Natalia to count. She wasn’t meant to be flying in the sky with the rest of her team, just as she was fine using her own abilities to fight rather than shooting fancy weapons from her arms -- she’d basically be a second Iron Man. But what did she settle for?
“I don’t have your narcissism to fit into one.”

It never gets easier for the crew of the Enterprise, no matter how many times they get sucked through some kind of time-space anomaly that drags them into a different time, a different world, a different dimension. It’s jarring every time, especially because this particular wormhole had been threatening to damage earth when they responded to it.
Now they find themselves orbiting the wrong earth, far-flung into god knows where in the multiverse. After some base-level digging around in the communications on the surface-- something that wasn’t easy given how primitive their systems are-- they’ve managed to uncover the fact that they’re in the 21st century, and that this version of earth has already made contact with aliens. According to what they were able to discover, the aliens were hostile, and they don’t match any of Starfleets records.
Still, best not to meddle in any timelines. The captain orders them to orbit the planet in search of a way home.
Unknown to them, on the surface of the planet, their ship has been spotted. They were first reported in Malaysia, by someone with a telescope. Then a few days later, the story was corroborated in Japan. A white disc it’s been called-- Alaska reported seeing it next, and then someone in Canada. Over the course of a week, more than 50 reports from all over the world have come in, and the news is chatting about it internationally, speculating on what the strange disc wants, and whether they’ll be as hostile as the last aliens.
After their last encounter, the military is already started to gather forces-- just in case. They really can’t be too careful.
The movie had been interesting but not as interesting as the man he'd been watching it with. Everyone had told him to watch out for Stark and for the most part he'd made certain the other had kept his hands to himself. He didn't want this nice evening to turn into something he would regret and for the most part it hadn't. But he'd had a long day, the movie wasn't keeping him as interested as it might usually. At some point Steve knew he'd fallen asleep and had started to lean into Tony. Sleep wasn't something that came easy to him but something about the other man made it really easy for him to just fall asleep and when he woke up against Stark's chest he wondered if maybe he shouldn't move. It was the arm around his waist that kept him from moving and cracking an eye he knew he should find a way of slipping out. When he's pulled closer an odd sort of half quiet squeak slipped from his lips. If Stark didn't think he was awake before he definitely knew in that moment.
